Welcome to the first part of the sequel minimal wedding of Rae and Alex who were hitched on the 22nd October 2020. Their wedding plans were turned upside down due to COVID19 but Rae and Alex saw it as an opportunity to have two special wedding days. Oh yes! Today I am over the moon to be sharing the first day. Their second day will be taking place this Autumn and if their first wedding is anything to go by, the second part is set to be incredible.
They were married at The Mansion House in Kent in a micro wedding ceremony with four guests. They both looked so gorgeous in their chosen outfits, complete with simple accessories and matching bouquets. They then had a meal at Hotel Du Vin – RTW to celebrate. I just love the drip wedding cake and the fun stickers on the soles of their shoes.
Photos From Sophie thank you so much for sharing these simply gorgeous images with us.

Maldives beach – Rae was sat on the beach with the gentle waves lapping at her feet. Alex joined a short time after, discretely placing a shell under Rae’s leg which contained the engagement ring. Rae didn’t notice!
Before the shell got washed away, Alex asked “what’s that under your leg?” As Rae looks and starts to open the shell with butterflies in her tummy, Alex popped the question, “do you think you would like to marry me?”
COVID won’t stop us getting married!!!!!!
When September hit, it was time to seriously think about postponing the Big Wedding Day! After several nights of discussing, we both decided that we are getting married in 2020! Looking into the options we had, the amazing reality was, we can do it TWICE! Splitting the days as our “marriage day”, the legal stuff, and then our “Wedding Day”, the white dresses, walking down the aisle, bridesmaids, all our friends and family, food, booze and p a r t y !!!!
Our Marriage Day was always going to be a fun, light-hearted, chilled, relaxed day. With only four guests (Alex’s sister and brother-in-law, Rae’s parents) the vision was to wake up together, get ready together, do our makeup and hair together, drive to the venue together, decorate our vehicle with ribbon, have the traditional wedding march walking in together (as this is cheesy to our personalities) and then a cheeky song, but reflects us as a couple, to play once legally married. Then after the ceremony, have some fun photos with Sophie and a polaroid we had. This continued into the afternoon during a sit-down meal at Hotel du Vin!

Online shopping, love a bit of ASOS!
Alex had a vision of high waist white trousers and Rae wanted a dress to show off the hard work of the fitness journey up to this day. Both outfits to complement each other but to reflect the personalities. The importance was to feel comfortable so the focus was on the day!

Entering the room, hand in hand walking down the middle of the spacious room to ‘the wedding march’. Music being played via Bluetooth from one of our guests.
After saying the magical two words, “I do”, we leave as Mrs & Mrs to Mad Love by Mabel.
