I have a spectacular elopement to share with you today in the most scenic location in the US.
Shelby and Izak’s Mt Hood elopement on 5th June 2020 in Oregon was oh so special. They rented an Airbnb which looked so striking and the interior by the way was really cool too, where they said their vows in the lush woodland gardens. They created a backdrop of velvet and faux flowers, complete with a boho style rug. I have to say that they both looked so amazing in their chosen outfits too. They ended the day by cosying up by the fire for smores and dancing in the cabin.
Katie Ann Photography, thank you so much for sharing these totally beautiful images with us.

We met through a mutual friend in college when we were young! He was 19 and I was 20! We grew up in neighbouring towns and both went to the same college 2 hours away. Our parents only live 6 miles apart. We dated for 5 years and then moved from Michigan to Oregon together. He proposed on a hike in Washington with the most beautiful view of the Columbia River Gorge. He rented a cute boho cabin on the Columbia River and we had a nice weekend getaway together
Jazzed up outdoor wedding. A lot of our accents were gold or rose gold. Our original color palette went out the window because of covid-19. We went for burgundy, burnt orange, and pink. We wanted to be in nature surrounded by life’s natural beauty because that’s how we like to reconnect with each other and life! We don’t like the pressure and attention of traditional weddings. So our day was perfect! We took pictures at Trillium Lake which was our first camping trip in Oregon!
We had rose gold and gold accents. Our venue had a bonfire pit, so I thought it would be fun to make s’mores! We had custom marshmallows with our names on them and a cute s’mores sign! My husband and friend put together our alter. I love velvet so we incorporated velvet and had a really cool boho rug for our aisle. The rug was orange, pink and burgundy. We both collect crystals so we had two large selenite crystals at our alter
Our flowers and boutonnière were fake flowers we ordered on Etsy. I love the fact that we can actually keep them and give them family at some point! We didn’t have that many colors so I wanted the flowers to be vibrant, but not too loud. We love colors! They didn’t play an important part in the style of our wedding.
Making s’mores together was so much fun! I love the custom “There’s always room for smor’e love” sign! It was some of our last photos together that night.

I wanted a loose updo and simple jewelry that wouldn’t take away from my dress. My floral hairpiece was made by our florist on Etsy to match my bouquet. My dress was very detailed and beaded on the top and very flowy on the bottom. I didn’t feel comfortable in very form-fitting gowns. I wanted easy and breezy! I wanted to be comfortable and elegant. My husband also wanted to be comfortable. We are both laid back and easy going. We wanted to feel that way on our wedding day.

Reading our vows was the most special moment of our wedding day. They were very personal and had inside jokes throughout them!
A: Make each other laugh and take turns taking care of each other! Love and marriage is work and if you put in the time, it is the most rewarding work there is! Do what is going to make you happy in your wedding day because it is an intimate moment for you both!
