Let’s face facts, a lot of couples have kids when they tie the knot now. We did! When I got married to my husband we had our two little boys along for the ride with us and I wouldn’t change it for a thing. But when it comes to having a honeymoon when you are a parent, just what are your options? Traditionally newlyweds dream of jetting off somewhere exotic, with high-end luxury for weeks of undisturbed us time. But when you have children it’s not quite so straightforward.

Familymoon Honeymoon Parents

After our small wedding, we had a minimoon on our own for the weekend. But if we happened to be going away for any longer I don’t think I could have left my boys behind. Espcecially as my youngest was just 1 at the time. What would I have done? A familymoon of course! The best of both worlds, a once-in-a-lifetime, magical trip, with all of your favourite people. I don’t think it gets any better than that.

Familymoon Honeymoons

The great news is that Beaches Resorts are finding that familymoons are increasingly popular amongst newlyweds. It’s a great choice for parents getting wed and let me share why.

You Won’t Worry About Your Kids

Now if you are anything like me, you leave your children for a moment and you think about them. On our minimoon, I found it really strange to be parted from my boys and I kept wondering how they were and what they were up to. It’s not the best way to relax and enjoy your honeymoon. Bring the kids along and your worries will be gone.

You Don’t Need To Arrange Childcare

It can be tricky to find childcare for one day or night, let alone a weekend/week/weeks to take care of your children. However, if you bring your children with you, you don’t even need to think about asking anyone. There won’t be any of those awkward requests or logistical management of school runs/bottles/sleeping arrangements.

Noone Misses Out

Your children will feel so excited about going on a familymoon! They will feel cherished and special to be included in your plans. Plus a lot of fun can be had for them too, with lots of exciting activities for kids available at Beaches Resorts. Including kids camp with nannies, waterpark, watersports and more. In fact, this sounds super fun for the adults too!  They also have great family suites for a practical accommodation option.

You Can Have Alone Time Too

With all of the activities and fun on offer, you’ll be able to have some alone time too. Whether you lounge by the pool or on the beach, book a fun activity or enjoy a romantic meal together. You can also have some precious one-to-one time after the familymoon too don’t forget!

So when it comes to planning your honeymoon, will you opt for a fun and memorable familymoon?
