We’re headed to the woods for the Hampshire woodland wedding of Jo and Jack held in the autumn. Think yellow tones, a sunflower wedding bouquet and a lot of fun!
Their day was natural and relaxed with rustic decor in the marquee reception. There were wooden details and touches of hessian that brought a lovely nature-inspired feel to their wedding day look. Look out for the amazing desserts and the totally beautiful attire. It was all so so glorious.
A big thanks to Emily and Steve Photography for sharing these tremendous images that show all the love, pretty and happy moments.

Jack proposed in front of our closest friends in the place we first met, Beaulieu. Along a woodland walk that encapsulates what we always talked about our wedding looking like.

We wanted a simple, rustic woodland wedding that wasn’t too formal and made our guests feel at home and relaxed. We had always dreamed of getting married within the woods and not in the traditional way as this is where we feel the most comfortable. We wanted to bring the forest into our themes.

We had a budget in mind of 15,000 and made a lot of the decorations ourselves (with help from family and friends) we did go slightly over this but not by much!

We chose to have a ceremony in the woods themselves which due to rules in England wasn’t legal. We asked a good friend of ours to write and perform this part of our day so that it was completely personal to us! We then competed out legal part within a licensed Shepard’s hut with a registrar (we chose for this part of the service to be as short as possible as we had completed our vows in the woods).

I chose Emily & Steve Photography (Emily was with us on the day) as their portfolio encaptured the relaxed style of photography we wanted, the woodlands speak for themselves and we didn’t want to overcomplicate the process. Emily made us feel so relaxed and the photos are gorgeous.

Weddings in the Woods, Emery Down. A gorgeous location which had everything we wanted and allowed us to have the day exactly how we wanted it but keeping to a budget.

My dress was from Ava Louise Bridal in Southampton, I had no real idea of what I wanted as I’m not a dress gal but after trying on a few I fell in love with the simplicity yet slightly traditional style of this Lacey fitted dress.
Jack has his heart set on a tweed/check suit which incorporates colour pallet of the forest and found the perfect dark green suit from Moss Bros which complemented the venue.

Our theme was sunflowers with colours of green, yellow, white and brown used in all of our decorations and flowers. We didn’t overdo it as we wanted this to enhance our surroundings not take over.

Covid was still with us so we went on an around the UK cruise for a week.

Our first dance was a precious moment for us as Jack’s sister and my brother played and sang the song live. Remember us this way originally by Lady GaGa. It was very emotional and they have even gone into a studio to record the song for us so we always have a memory of it!
Not everything you do will please everyone, we all have different tastes and ideas BUT this is your day so do what you want and feel is right at the time.
Just sublime!
Jo and Jack thank you ever so much for sharing your wonderful Hampshire woodland wedding with us.
