Beautiful Zero-Waste Eco-Friendly & Relaxed Dunbar Wedding

A very warm welcome to WWW readers Evan and Marion and their Dunbar wedding in beautiful Scotland. Their day was was super eco-friendly and sustainable, with zero waste and preloved items. Something which is so wonderful to hear and as you will see in their gorgeous images didn’t impact the beauty of their day one bit.

There was a really relaxed vibe too, with no seating plan or wedding day timeline, which is so refreshing! Sometimes, under planning can make for a much more laid-back atmosphere, but also makes wedding planning so much more enjoyable.

I adore the outfits, the stunning coastal setting and the cakes! Bernadeta Kupiec thank you so much for sharing with us these sublime images of a really splendid day.

The Proposal

It happened on February 2019, in Iceland at 2am, after watching the northern lights for hours for the first time, near a frozen waterfall.

The Vision

Relaxed! No time schedule, no formal dinner, no seating plan for meals. A nice couple of days near the sea, enjoying time with the people we love. Good food, good wines, and a chill BBQ the next day 🙂

Eco-friendly, and sustainable. No plastic, no waste. With a touch of vintage!

Your Outfits

Dress: Second hand altered dress bought in Bliss Studio in Edinburgh, 12 Montgomery St, Edinburgh EH7 5JS – eco-friendly choice.

Bride’s shoes: white, comfortable Converse.

Evan’s suit: Eco-friendly choice as well.

The Ceremony & Music

Ceremony – humanist, outdoor with a view over the sea. The celebrant David Smith.

Music band – Glasgow Ceilidh Band. We were looking forward to the most to dance ceilidh (our families are from France so most of them will dance it for the first time).

Your Photographer & Filmmaker

Photographer – Bernadeta Kupiec. We choose her because her work is incredible. It’s romantic, with a touch of vintage, like paintings. And her personality fits with ours.

The Honeymoon

A short stay in Cairngorms with our friends who stayed a little bit longer.

Memorable Moments

The day before the wedding, when we prepared all the decorations: tent, tables, lighting. The moment when we were with our friends and family and we knew the wedding was going to take place the next day (we postponed it several times due to covid). We haven’t seen some of them for several years and a lot has changed in their lives. Some got married, some had children.

The wedding day also stuck in our memory. Even though it wasn’t Friday the 13th it felt like it was. A celebrant whose car broke and came to the wedding half an hour later. Flying ants that attacked us during the ceremonies and we had to seek shelter in the wooden cabin.
