Get ready for the red and greenery wedding of your dreams!
It’s time to share WWW readers Tania and Azim’s gorgeous autumn wedding with all the dark, moody and romantic vibes. They held their nuptials at The Barns at Lodge Farm in Essex with a fairy-lit ceremony and dramatically styled reception.
I have to say their wedding style really did have wow-factor thanks to the magnificent flowers, twinkling lighting and showstopping cake creation. Then there were the sensational outfit choices and the brilliant signs that really make a bold statement.
Thanks so much to Three Flowers Photography for sharing with us these absolutely beautiful captures of Tania and Azim’s red meets greenery wedding.
Tania and Azim on WWW
I used to browse WWW during my free time for inspiration when we were first engaged; it helped me to decide that I definitely wanted an Autumn wedding. It’s also how I discovered a couple of key suppliers.

We had discussed getting married already so Azim didn’t want to propose on holiday, as he thought I would see it coming straight away!
Instead, he chose a completely ordinary Saturday. He shouted out to me from the bedroom that he’d spilt something everywhere and needed my help (very believable) and when I opened the door he was on one knee, with candles lit everywhere in the room.
After toying with the idea of a Summer tipi wedding, we both decided that actually Autumn would be the perfect time of year for us. We both love the cooler weather and cosy feel of Autumn. The vision was to have a wedding that felt intimate and warm but with a bit of dark and moody décor.
Finding the right venue was a huge struggle! Our guest list was initially around 170 but venues with that capacity all seemed to be very grand and felt too formal for what we wanted.
Thankfully I found Lodge Farm during another frantic google search and went to view it. It was just what we wanted: the ceremony barn was absolutely beautiful and the reception area was the perfect blank canvas for us to style as we wanted. I
loved that it had an industrial look to it but still felt intimate and romantic.

I went to try on wedding dresses the day before the dreaded winter lockdown of 2020, so I was very lucky that there was a dress which I loved! It was a Madi Lane dress (the ‘Alma’) from Angelica Bridal in Islington. I didn’t plan on wearing a tight-fitting dress but I just loved it as soon as it was on. I wanted dark shoes to compliment our décor and found a pair from Dune.
Azim’s suit was a dark grey from Suit Supply that they also tailored for him, with a deep burgundy tie.
We had a civil ceremony at Lodge Farm, in their old barn. It was absolutely beautiful and both of us agreed our favourite part of the day.
For music, I walked down the aisle to a John Mayer cover of Beyonce’s XO and we signed the register to You’re My Best Friend by Queen and Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder (had to be done).
Photographer was Charlotte at Three Flowers Photography. Couldn’t be happier with the photos and several people mentioned how lovely she was on the day.
We both hate having our photograph taken so I was drawn to her style because it was less traditional and posed. On the day, our two-year-old daughter did not want to pose for photographs at all but she still managed to get some amazing shots of the three of us.

I knew that I wanted to go all out with flowers and styling, especially as the space we had for the reception was a big blank canvas. We wanted deep burgundy and wine colours, with lots of greenery and a few elements of black to create a dramatic, moody feel. But neither of us are good with anything practical or crafty so I knew we needed a professional!
I found Hayley at ‘Starry Eyed Weddings’ and other than some discussions about colours and a mood board, pretty much gave her free reign to just go for it and use her own creativity. It was so exciting arriving at the venue the day of the wedding and seeing the finished styling!
She completely understood the vision and I had so many comments on the day about how beautiful everything looked. It was also such a relief to know that one team were taking care of all the detailing, from the flowers to the table settings.
Sugar Plum Bakes was suggested to us by the venue for the wedding cake and we loved how modern Vaani’s buttercream decorations were.
…to be confirmed! We didn’t want to book anywhere abroad as there were still travel restrictions. So we had a mini trip (child free!) to Bath and Bristol and hope to have a more exotic honeymoon in the future.

There were so many amazing and memorable moments from the day, it’s so hard to narrow it down to favourites!
We both loved the ceremony and our photographer Charlotte captured the moment when we looked at each other after walking out as husband and wife. It was a really exciting moment and one of my favourite photos from the day.
If you go for a ‘dry hire’ venue, make the most of their contacts and trusted suppliers. We ended up with a team of amazing suppliers who had all worked together before and it meant everything ran so smoothly on the day.
Goodness me, how special!
Tania and Azim, a big thank you to you both for sharing your gorgeous red and greenery wedding story.
