Autumnal & Loving Woodland-Inspired Old Kent Barn Wedding

Now, this is a rustic wedding that dreams are made of! It’s time to share WWW followers Marcus and Lily’s The Old Kent Barn in Kent, which was held in the autumn.

Their day was woodland inspired with a log stump cake, greenery florals, wooden elements and beautiful autumn wedding flowers. Not to mention they had the most stylish outfits, twinkling sparklers and the cutest dog in attendance. Just you wait and see!

Old Kent Barn Wedding

The Proposal

After 7 years together whilst on holiday in Crete (our first proper holiday as a couple), Marcus took me down to the beach and got down on one knee just the 2 of us.

The Vision

we wanted our wedding to be suited to us, neither me or Marcus are big summer people so decided that autumn was the best time for us.

We took a few aspects of what we love and combined them all, autumnal colours, nature, music and of course our dog Bailey. We also didn’t want a ‘large’ crowd at our wedding so decided a maximum of 50-day guests worked perfectly for us.

The Venue

The Old Kent Barn. As soon as we walked into The Old Kent Barn Marcus looked at me and said this is it. I don’t think we could of asked for a better wedding venue and the team were amazing. We could not fault a single thing!

The Styling & Decor

Flowers & Decor: Chic Weddings & Events – listen to me ramble about my dream flowers and made them come true.

Cake: The Cake Witch – we didn’t want the standard ‘white’ wedding cake and Nicola did a perfect job of making our woodland wedding cake dreams come true.

Canopy Trees: Light of my Life – I don’t think our wedding ceremony would of been as magical as it had been without our beautiful trees, they tie everything together.

Signs/Calligraphy: Boards by Jess – Jess is amazing! I have never seen someone make writing look so beautiful, she helped our table name dreams come true!

Your Outfits

Lily: I went to The Bridal Boutique of Jules for my wedding dress after seeing amazing reviews about Jeska and her team. Most important for me with my dress was comfort and ease. I didn’t want to feel like I was weighed down by my dress.

The designer is Rembo Styling, my day shoes were Charlotte Mills and in the evening I changed into Vans.

Marcus: Marcus went to a local tailor in Tunbridge Wells called Hardman & Hemming. We went through different fabrics and styles and decided on a navy suit with a check going though and a burnt orange waistcoat.

His shoes were from Office and his bowtie was from Dickie Bows.

The Ceremony & Music

We got married inside at The Old Kent Barn under our canopy trees with the light backdrop.

The Honeymoon

A couple of days after our wedding we jetted off to New York for 5 nights and spent our time exploring the city that never sleeps! One of our favourite cities and we will definitely return.

We have now booked our ‘proper’ honeymoon and we are going on a California road trip next year.

Memorable Moments

Walking down the aisle and seeing Marcus, and of course Bailey stood with him.
During photos, spending time just the 2 of us and laughing!
Sparklers, everyone going outside and enjoying the magic of sparklers!
Marcus’ memorable moment was opening his gifts in the morning.
Marcus’ memorable moment was when the DJ opened the chest with inflatables and props and all the guests letting loose and having fun!
