A very warm welcome to Grace and Tom who are sharing their divine Oddhouse Farm wedding in the midlands with us today.
Their day was bright and beautiful. I absolutely love the colourful flowers, the rustic wedding decor and of course, the super beautiful outfits. From the petal wedding cake to the floral stationery and all the bright, happy smiles, this is one truly wonderful celebration.
Anna Rose Heaton Photography, I can’t thank you enough for sharing with us these exquisite images. Such a delight!

On an autumnal walk around Belvoir Castle, I thought we were just enjoying the countryside following the latest Covid lockdown! Little did I know, Tom was planning to pop the question with a stunning backdrop!
We wanted a really relaxed day with our nearest and dearest to let our hair own and have a good time!
We’re quite outdoorsy, so wanted bright flowers with a lot of colour and a rustic type setting. We also wanted it to feel personal, so were keen to do as much of the decorating as possible ourselves!

Oddhouse Farm, Owthorpe. We fell in love with the rustic feel and the countryside it was located in.
Tom had a suit made by Moss Bros specifically for the day. He even got the date sewn inside which was a lovely touch.
I wore a Justin Alexander dress from Beautiful Brides in Nottingham. It was called Braelynn and I fell in love with the sleeves and the back when I saw it. It was just the kind of boho chic dress I was looking for.
I also wore a veil that I swapped for a flowery headpiece after the ceremony.

As we wanted it to be quite a personal affair, we designed and made much of the décor ourselves. My Mum spent hours making bunting for the ceremony room and Tom made the rustic wedding arch and centrepieces from wood. We sourced the tablecloths online and spent months collecting oddly shaped glass vases for the flowers on each table.
The wedding stationery was a standard design we found online that we personalised, and our wedding favours were mini-succulents that we tied hessian ribbon around.
The flowers were from The Flower Room in Edwinstowe and were absolutely perfect. We had a vision of lots of pop of colour and they certainly delivered!
The cake was also from a lovely local supplier, Bakehouse 94. We kept with the wildflower theme for this and had different flavours for each tier.

We were incredibly lucky that one of our closest mutual friends from school (also a bridesmaid) is a very talented harp player! I, therefore, walked down the aisle to Sarah playing for us and she also played during the signing of the registers and had pre-recorded a piece for us to walk out to.
The Concerning Hobbits piece from Lord of the Rings went down particularly well!

The fantastic Anna Rose Heaton. Anna was fabulous throughout the day and felt part of the celebration! We had so many comments during and after the day saying how she had put people at ease and contributed to the lovely, relaxed feeling we were aiming for!

As we’re quite outdoorsy, we wanted an action-packed honeymoon so chose to go to New Zealand! We booked through an agent which made things a lot easier as we wanted to travel around a lot. We flew to Auckland and then picked up a campervan that we used to travel all the way down to Christchurch in. We did lots of hiking, kayaking, sightseeing and more! We really would recommend, although the flight is ridiculously long!
We also stopped in Fiji on our way home for a few days which was a lovely chance to relax.

We loved our photo shoot in the woods with Anna. We took the bridesmaids and groomsmen along and shot some photos near the gypsy caravan. It was great fun and we’ve now got some fantastic photos to look back on!
We also have to rave about the food! Bubbling Butter are incredible wedding caterers and really flexible to what we wanted! We had an antipasti sharing starter, followed by a delicious rump of lamb or roasted butternut squash and sage pithivier for main.
The trio of deserts (Chocolate Brownie, Vanilla Cheesecake and Banoffee Pie) went down a storm!

Make sure you take a few minutes to spend time alone on the day. It really is true that it flies by, and it’ll be over before you know it!
Make sure you take it all in and have a few check-ins with each other throughout! We did and it’s helped us remember all the small details!
Oh so lovely.
Grace and Tom, thank you both ever so much for sharing your very special Oddhouse Farm wedding story with us.
