Wedding Ideas at The Coach House at Soughton Hall

‘Eat, Drink and Be Merry’ is a phrase highly associated with weddings because the food, the drink, and the company of the day are aspects that contribute to making it truly special. And when it comes to Italian weddings this is even more so!

We wanted to showcase how couples can bring Italian delights to a UK-based wedding and incorporate rustic elements.

After attending the launch evening for The Coach House at Soughton Hall, Kay, wedding planner and stylist of Oak and Vine Weddings and Events, knew immediately that this new venue would be the perfect host for the Rustic Tuscan concept in mind!

The Coach House, a Grade II listed house, is located on the estate of Soughton Hall in Mold, North Wales. It has such charm and character with its brick walls and oak beams providing a spectacular rustic backdrop. The circular glass windows which are framed with stone present a stunning photo opportunity!

The weather was not on our side during the morning with a torrential downpour but this did not dampen the shoot team’s spirit and excitement! Everyone worked together to bring an authentic setting with the talent of all the suppliers overflowing in each aspect. Later into the day the sunshine made an appearance and we were able to get some stunning shots outside in the venue grounds.

Food is probably the one thing most associated with Italy and it definitely did not disappoint on this shoot! Artisan Italian biscuits and cannoli on a log style cake stand created a fun alternative to a traditional wedding cake. Each biscuit made with thoughtful meaning or flavour which showcases these sweet delicacies. Alongside this was the most scrumptious grazing platter of savoury delights. The perfect accompaniments to staple beverages such as limonata and negroni!

Incorporating fruit with soft white, peach and apricot flowers, an olive garland (which took over 3 hours to make!), mini plants in terracotta pots place names, and hairpins shaped like butterfly wings and named ‘Farfalla’ (which means butterfly in Italian), every detail was infused with Tuscan vibes.

A day full of love, fun and laughs (and some very stuffed bellies by the end of it!).
