Welcome to Jason and Lily’s exquisite Yi-Ban wedding in London. Firstly they were married at the iconic Old Marylebone Town Hall before heading to Yi-Ban for an 8-course meal, which was also a reflection of their Vietnamese heritage. Does that sound just amazing?!
They had a simple and elegant style to their day. There was a romantic blush pink colour scheme teamed with gorgeous flowers, stylish outfits and a really beautiful flower cake. So pretty! Don’t miss the riverside views, the joyful confetti moment and of course, all the love!
Grace Pham Photography, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your stunning captures with us. Enjoy them all below.

We got engaged during COVID lockdown in 2020 on our 7th anniversary. J popped the question after a home-cooked romantic dinner in the comfort of our own home. As a couple, we are both quite chilled and low-key so it was the perfect proposal.
Simple and elegant. The idea of a big extravagant wedding was definitely not something we wanted. We envisioned a relaxed and fun day to celebrate with family and close friends.

We kept track of our spending with a very detailed wedding budget spreadsheet and updated it regularly with all our vendor bookings. J works with spreadsheets for a living and is very proud of it.
We chose The Old Marylebone Town Hall as our ceremony venue, we loved the pillars and steps in the front of the building. We knew it would look great in pictures for our couple’s portraits.
For our reception, we wanted to keep the traditional element of a banquet-style dinner in keeping with our Vietnamese heritage. We had an 8-course menu at Yi-Ban.

L – I found an A-line dress at David’s Bridal and loved the romantic lace bodice and flowy tulle skirt. It originally had spaghetti straps which I later felt didn’t really suit me so I had it customised with lace off-shoulder straps from Etsy.
I found a beautiful matching sheer veil from Blossom and Bluebird and my shoes were from Jimmy Choo in a nude pink colour.
J- I decided on a simple yet modern, sleek look with a black tux from Moss Bros and a matching black bow tie.

We hired Phil from Blush & Bass as our DJ for the reception. When guests arrived, we had acoustic/piano versions of our favourite romantic songs.
Throughout the night, he also managed to include a number of requests from our older family guests so everyone’s taste was catered to. As millennials, we grew up listening to a lot of early 2000s R&B/hip hop songs and requested these songs for our after-party. It was so very nostalgic and brought us right back to our carefree younger days, our guests loved it and commented on how great the vibe and music was.

We were recommended by a family member to have Grace (Grace Pham Photography) as our photographer and it was one of the best decisions we’ve made. We wanted a natural, modern style for our pictures and felt our day was captured perfectly! We especially love the confetti shots and candid pictures of our smiling guests

We had our honeymoon on the beautiful island of Bali. It was the most amazing getaway for much-needed relaxation after the wedding. We got to explore the sights and culture, including hanging out with some monkeys in the Sacred Monkey forest.

As it was a June summer wedding, we wanted to use a soft colour palette and chose a floral blush theme.
The bridesmaids were in mismatched floor-length dresses in different blush tones which they picked out themselves from ASOS during the sale so it was a bargain! We knew we didn’t want the bridesmaids to be in the same dress and wanted them to be comfortable in a dress that suited their individual style.
For our cake, we chose a simple design decorated with flowers to match our blush theme. We decided we didn’t want a huge cake and was mainly decorative as we already had other desserts served as part of the dinner menu.
We had a white flower wall and other floral decorations from Jojo and Dodo Events decorations and customised signage from Etsy. We also did some DIY by designing our own invites with ribbon and wax seals from Etsy and putting together pic ‘n mix sweets goody bags for the kids.

So many moments, loads of happy moments with our guests and some near disasters which we laugh about looking back now. One of our favourites during our group shots, we had a second confetti moment thanks to a strong gust of wind which blew all the thrown confetti back up, the moment was captured perfectly by our photographer.

Enjoy the day, it really does fly by so quickly. Don’t stress the small details, most likely not everything will go exactly the way you planned but that’s okay! Your guests will not remember or even notice. Good vibes, good food and good music is all that will be remembered by your guests.
Does it get any more beautiful?! Wow.
