Stylish Jewel Tone Glasshouse Somersbury Barn Wedding Ideas

The shoot was set in a stylish glasshouse and featured the most beautiful vibrant jewel-tone colours. There were rich hues in the wedding makeup, the dramatic flowers and the modern stationery. Somersbury Barn Wedding Ideas

Business partners and concept creators Nikita Lang from Thorn and Found Photography and Chelsey Woods from Makeup By Chelsey, created a seasonal inspired styled shoot. The vision was to inspire a wedding fashioned around spring and welcoming the season and to celebrate colour.

We loved the idea of something unique but intimate, inspiration derives from the deep jewel tones we see in the flowers during spring season. We wanted playful yet timeless, to show how colour can be used in an elegant way for the perfect spring wedding. Classic, elegant and untraditional.

Joining photographer Nikita Lang, Ricky Dymond owner of Prime Photography Eastbourne and Tyler Rook owner of Tyler Rook Photography teamed up to help create a beautiful, light and airy gallery to really show the true beauty and colour of the shoot design.

We wanted to capture those small intimate details and also capture the talent and hard work each supplier added to this shoot. We opted for clean, and colourful editing.

The dress, Miriam Chitambo owner of Eliza May Atelier created an elegant number for our bride. We wanted to go for short and playful, showcasing shorter dresses can be styled well into any wedding.

We found this dress really gave off a spring vibe with the shorter length and tulle detailing. We paired this with a chunky red shoe to compliment the bold colours within the styling.

Our celebrant, Rebecca Douglas, Owner of R D Ceremonies joined us to present a beautifully designed hand fasting ceremony. The details within the ceremony created a personal and meaningful feel. Rebecca catered a ceremony designed for the untraditional couple.

With handfasting ceremonies becoming increasingly popular we decided to capture it for somebody who may be looking for something less traditional. They way Rebecca also incorporated the shoots’ colour pallettes into her handfasting ribbons made it all the more significant.

Chesley Woods concept creator and makeup artist for our shoot wanted to create rich tones in her makeup style. A clean classic look with a ruby red statement lip to tie in with the brief of the shoot.

Chelsey aimed to help create a look for brides who want to be a bit braver with colour but maybe still want that natural, soft look. Chesley wanted to add a bit of elevation to the makeup to help add detail to contrast the dress and chunky red shoe.

Hazel Edwards, owner of Honey V Tiaras, created for us two bridal hair pieces. We styled first the stunning draped veil with the detailed flower embroidery. We felt this complimented well with Miriam’s dress and made a stunning spring statement.

We then styled in a sweet bridal bow for the reception to help define a less traditional option. The idea of switching up both accessories meant brides can have more options to work and style with.

Our models, real couple Ross and Isabel Gray, gave us all the intimacy and completely in love sort of feel. The energy when working with them gave us everything we needed to create a truthful love story. They completely embodied our vision of and gave us the true meaning of what a spring wedding should feel like.

Carrie Raymond owner of Caritas Cake Design, produced a cake so unique it instantly fitted into the theme. The three tiered cake featured gorgeous hand painted wraps in marble jewel tones to reflect the colours of the shoot. Which when paired with her handmade sugar flowers made a wonderful statement and captured the true meaning of a spring inspired cake design.

Kate Rusk owner of The Prop Library, set a table with vintage brass vases which housed Chloe’s floristry. Kate draped the table with a burgundy cloth and matched with burgundy candles to create a contrasting bold but rustic look.

Added was simple crockery to neutralise the intended simple look for the table. Added were rock candy favour pieces by Jilly Garrat owner of Candy Rock Shop. This added a burst of excitement into the table setting and drew in the colour pallettes, they add a unique offering to compliment the theme.

Lucinda Watkinson, owner of Somersbury Barn graciously hosted our styled shoot. The venue displayed beautifully the kind of wedding look we wanted. Set in a Victorian glass house we were able to have a unique kind of wedding venue.

The glass house provided a light but cosy feel. Somersbury Barn’s glass house was versatile and offers a huge amount of potential for any sort of event styling. Weather it be big or small. Having this space decorated with rich floristry made for the perfect spring aesthetic.

Chloe Lambert, owner of Beautiful Blooms Florist created for us a beautiful selection of deep coloured seasonal flowers. Our talented florist created with these blooms a stunning hanging arch, it made an enchanting feel for the intimate ceremony. Having such an open modern area draped in jewel colour flowers really brought out a heavenly feel.

Chloe also created a bouquet which stunningly created a magnetic pull towards the other detailing of the bride. The bouquet paired well with the bride’s bold lip and shoe adding a burst of freshness to the look. Our groom also presented a beautiful buttonhole piece to match the bride’s bouquet. Chloe also spread single flowers in brass vases from The Prop Library to create a modern and flower filled table setting.

Can we talk about the ice cream campervan? Nathalie, owner of Buttercup Bus, showcased a beautiful grey camper with spring inspired ice cream options.

We felt this was a perfect finishing to a spring wedding. The ice cream matched and complimented the colours and overall theme of the day. The bus had also been dressed in flowers from Beautiful Blooms to have it matching with the rest of the styling. Ice cream is aways winner for weddings in the warmer months.

Charity Checketts, owner of By Letterly, designed for us beautifully vibrant and spring inspired stationery and signage. Charity created a greeny blue jewel tone cake sign that really stood out in the reception room, it created an instant pull to where the cake was displayed.

With the same beautiful design Charity created name tags to complete the table settings and matched the rock candy for a pop of personalisation. An ice cream menu designed by Charity also took stand on the buttercup camper adding more pop of colour and delivering that spring inspiration.
