Bryony and Pierce’s outdoor Hertfordshire wedding was truly beautiful.
They were married in the summer months at Brook Farm Cuffley complete with an outdoor ceremony and tipi reception. I love their words of advice, especially about how things may not go to plan. But those moments will then add to your wedding memories. It’s a great outlook to have and really helps to create a relaxed atmosphere.
From the stylish outfits to the darling flowers, signs and place names, you’ll be sure to fall head over heels.
Thanks ever so much to Kristian Leven Photography for kindly sharing these sensational images with us. Enjoy them all.

Pierce proposed to me on my 30th birthday. We went on a lovely long walk with our dog (Dolly!) and had planned to make a special dinner that night. I kept putting off dinner saying “oh let’s wait a bit I’m not hungry yet”.
Little did I know that Pierce wanted to propose at dinner! I then decided to have a nap on the sofa and that’s when Pierce ran upstairs grabbed the ring then came back down to wake me up and proposed to me 🙂 I was so surprised and had no idea!
We wanted a really relaxed, fun day with as little formality as possible. We wanted our wedding to feel like a big garden party with everyone playing games and chatting outside.

Our venue was the beautiful Brook Farm in Cuffley. We both had a vision in our heads of what kind of wedding we were after.
Something outdoors, in a field with a tipi and with a place where we could be married under a canopy of trees. We went to a wedding fair there which was actually the first venue we visited, and we instantly fell in love. It was exactly what we were looking for.

We loved our ceremony, it was so intimate and special. We did handfasting which we loved and every year on our anniversary we will tie an extra knot in the ribbons to celebrate another year married.
Because of the outside nature of the wedding, we had a celebrant who personalised the ceremony to us. Incorporating aspects of our lives into it.

Bryony : I got my dress from Betty Mccaul in Enfield, I loved the dress so much but I wanted to have something with sleeves. My mum found Sue who is the most amazing dressmaker and she sourced and made my beautiful bell sleeves for me which matched perfectly to the rest of the dress!
Pierce: It took me a while to find a suit I loved. I lost count on how many suits I tried on in the process as nothing felt special enough, or was too wintery for our outdoor theme. As I was close to giving up I decided to pop in John Lewis to have a quick check.
That’s when my dad came running out of nowhere holding a light blue suit. Before trying it on I knew this was the one.

We did most of the decoration ourselves except for the flowers. Maria from At Last Floristry was our florist and she created exactly what we wanted and well surpassed what we envisaged, they were so beautiful. As we wanted to have as little waste at our wedding as possible we used tiny vases on all the tables and asked all our guests to take flowers home with them.
Our wedding cake was made by Wilton Patisserie in Southgate. We asked for something florally but subtle and they delivered a beautiful cake.
We created the seating name plates by making clay cutouts with people’s names on attached to little goodie bags which had a bag of our favourite sweets in, a jar of personalized M&Ms and a packet of garden flower seeds. For the children, we also made a little activity pack.
We also set up a fire pit outside with marshmallows on sticks for our guests. We didn’t realise just how big of a hit this was going to be with everyone!

Pierce and I are both a bit camera shy and even thought we may not have a photographer but luckily we found Kristian Leven! We wanted natural documentary-style photographs and he captured the day so beautifully. We couldn’t believe how beautiful the photos came out.

We went to Corfu for our honeymoon claiming it will be our last big holiday for a while! However, we loved it so much we are going back again this year!
I don’t think there is one moment that is most memorable, the whole day is just something we wish we could relive again and again!

Our biggest bit of advice is to just enjoy the day and try not to worry about things on the day. Not everything went according to plan on our day, my veil blew off as I was walking down the aisle, so I just took it off mid-walk and then a tree we had at the end of the aisle fell over. But it doesn’t matter those things add to the day and to the memories!
Also, remember it’s your day too, you may feel you should do certain things, however if it’s not what you want, don’t do it.

Just SO gorgeous.
Bryony and Pierce, thanks ever so much to you both for sharing your amazing outdoor Hertfordshire wedding story with us.
