What a delight it is to be sharing Joe and Hollie’s gorgeous and whimsical safari tent wedding.
Being an artist, Hollie really stamped her artistic skills onto their day. She skillfully painted the most beautiful stationery, which you’ll see throughout their day. Not to mention planning the wedding colours and pretty decorations herself. Wow!
Above all though, I love how relaxed, cosy and autumnal their day was. They really wanted their wedding to feel like them, and that really is the best way to approach planning your day.
You’ll fall head over heels for the pretty blooms, stunning outfits, rustic decor and of course all the romance. What a creative and special day at Wilde Lodge in Wales it was.
Thanks ever so much to Indie Love Photography for sharing with us these divine images.

On a trip to Florence, on a secret bench in The Bardini Garden.

To make lovely memories with our friends and family in a relaxed way. Laid back that focused on making the day really feel like us!
Our artistic vision from the day was about making it reflect the season and the landscape. And feel true to us.

The Wilde Lodge

Hollie’s outfit – I wanted to feel really whimsical, like I could have just walked through a field covered in flowers! I knew I wanted to have an element of colour too.
My veil was by Meadow Sweet Bridal, which I actually brought before my dress I loved it so much!
My dress was from Shropshire Country Brides and was covered in little flowers on the bust and down the train.
My flower crown was made from dried flowers by MeadowsandChirps on Etsy.
Joe’s suit was from Lanigan and Hulme in Knutsford. He knew he wanted a tweed look and they were brilliant! His tie and pocket square was a Liberty print from Peter Posh which the groomsmen and our dads also wore.

For our ceremony, we chose to use a celebrant as we wanted it to be really personal and non-traditional. Sian from Magpie Ceremonies was a dream. She took so much time before our day to get to know about us and our life together which made our ceremony so unique. And made us both feel much more relaxed and supported on the day. We wrote our own vows.
For our music, we used covers by the Vitamin String Quartet. We walked into Concerning Hobbits (Joe is a huge Lord Of The Rings fan) and walked out to their cover of God Only Knows.

For all of our stationery, colours and decorations I made these all myself. As I’m an artist, it was the best project ever. I loved designing all of the elements of our day and creating paintings of our venue.
Being the first day of Autumn I wanted that to be really reflected in the colours for the day. Having created other people’s wedding stationery in the past, I loved being able to do my own!
Our flowers were from a local flower grower Ridges Farm Flowers, which were just stunning. All of the flowers are homegrown and true to the season which was really important to us. Ridge’s Farm made our bouquets and buttonholes. We also had some DIY buckets of flowers which I used to make our table jar arrangements.

Amazing Charlotte from Indie Love Photography! She was perfect!

Having our dog Pippin with us for the day.
When he saw me after our ceremony he came and curled straight up on my wedding train for a cuddle and then sat on the bottom of the dress for all of our group photos.

Just do you! Really just try to build your day around what’s most important to you and don’t worry about traditions and ‘the done thing’!

Oh well wasn’t that all just EPIC?!
Joe and Hollie thank you so very much for sharing your stunning safari tent wedding story with us.
