It may be summer, but we’re headed into deep winter for a gorgeously snowy and cosy celebration. Yes that’s right its time to share Maria and Devereux’s Spruce Mountain Ranch wedding celebration.

Just wait until you see and read all about their enchanting and love filled day. From romantic snowfall to the cosy fireside reception in the cabin, it was stunning. I love how sentimental and heartfelt their day was, filled with emotion all day long. Keep your eyes peeled for a beautiful first look and the special couple portraits.

Thanks ever so much to Michelle Betz Photography for sharing with us these incredibly wonderful images.

Oh, my winter wonderland wedding! Let me paint a picture for you with words. I’d describe it as enchanting, like stepping into a sparkling snow globe. It was utterly magical, filled with a sense of ethereal beauty. The atmosphere was so serene and peaceful, yet buzzing with a quiet joy. It felt incredibly intimate and cozy, like being wrapped in a warm embrace despite the crisp winter air. The details were delicate and intricate, creating a truly breathtaking scene. And most importantly, it was profoundly heartfelt and joyful, a celebration of a love that felt both brand new and like it was always meant to be.

The Proposal

It happened over Sunset Cliffs, all oranges and pinks. He kind of nudged me, holding out a little box. “So,” you said, grinning a bit, “wanna do this marriage thing?” I laughed, tears already welling up. “Heck yeah, I do!”.

The Vision

Picture soft snowflakes falling like celebratory confetti. The crisp air carries intimate laughter and the sparkle of happy tears. Fairy lights glow, reflecting off the snow, creating a magical scene filled with pure happiness. It’s a celebration of genuine emotion, where small, heartfelt moments create a palpable warmth and radiant joy.

Your Outfits

Ah, yes, our wedding attire! The forest green really brought a rich, almost enchanted feel to everything. The bridesmaids were radiant in their forest green dresses, and those white-grey fur shawls added such a touch of wintery elegance and kept them cozy against the crisp air.

The groomsmen looked so dapper in their black suits, and the paisley forest green ties and pocket squares were such a fantastic detail – classic with a touch of personality that tied everything together beautifully.

And my husband! He looked absolutely dashing in his velvet forest green coat. The texture was so luxurious, and that deep green was just striking. He really stood out in the most wonderful way.

But the most special part for me was wearing my mother’s dress. It still feels a little surreal that it fit perfectly, like it was always meant to be mine. The ivory of the gown, against all that rich forest green, felt so timeless and significant. It was such a meaningful way to honor her, and it all came together so perfectly. It truly felt like a cohesive and deeply personal expression of our love and our story.

The Styling & Decor

The wedding decor was all about simple elegance, letting the natural beauty of the setting shine. On the tables, crisp white linens were accented with rich forest green napkins, providing a lovely pop of color. The centerpieces were understated yet beautiful: clusters of pristine white roses mingled with lush greenery, creating a natural and slightly wild feel.

The ambience in the cabin was intentionally a little dark and incredibly cozy. Soft, warm lighting cast gentle shadows, creating an intimate and romantic atmosphere. The focal point of the room was undoubtedly the fireplace, its warm glow flickering and casting dancing light across the room, adding a touch of rustic charm and inviting everyone to gather close. It felt like stepping into a warm embrace, a serene and elegant space tucked away from the outside world. It was DIY.

The Ceremony & Music

Our wedding ceremony was the epitome of small and intimate, overflowing with genuine connection. The air was alive with laughter, those warm, heartfelt sounds that bubble up when surrounded by your dearest. And oh, the happy tears flowed freely, those poignant moments when the weight of love and commitment washes over you. It was a truly beautiful exchange.

Now, the music we had planned for the celebration was a vibrant mix! We envisioned starting the reception with some fun, nostalgic 2000s hip hop to get everyone in a relaxed and celebratory mood. As the evening progressed and the energy built, we planned to transition into the infectious rhythms of soca, knowing that would get everyone moving and grooving. And later in the night, we couldn’t wait to switch to the fiery beats of salsa, ready to fill the dance floor with passionate energy and lively steps. It was a musical journey that reflected our personalities and our excitement to celebrate with everyone.

The Honeymoon

Ah, our honeymoon! It’s something we’re both so incredibly excited about, even though we have to wait a little longer. My husband will be on deployment soon, so we’ve planned our special getaway for next year, right after he returns. We decided on a Disney cruise, and the best part is that his daughter will be joining us!

Since she couldn’t be at the wedding, we really wanted to make the honeymoon a special experience that we could all share together. Imagine it: sailing on the open sea, the magic of Disney all around us, incredible food, fun activities, and just quality time together as a new family. It feels like the perfect way to celebrate our marriage and create some unforgettable memories with her.

We’re already picturing the sunshine, the shows, and all the laughter we’ll share. It’s going to be the most wonderful way to start our married life together, a delayed but definitely not forgotten celebration.

Memorable Moments

Meeting in person after months of just voices and screens felt surreal, like stepping into reality from a dream. The anticipation was electric, and when I finally saw him , it was like my heart instantly recognized its missing piece. I remember the exact shade of his eyes, his smile – familiar yet breathtakingly new. Across from me, I saw that same spark of recognition. It wasn’t just a greeting; it was a profound knowing, a silent understanding that erased the distance.

In that first glance, that hesitant hello, there was an undeniable certainty. It wasn’t just attraction; it was a deep, soul-level resonance. It was the unmistakable feeling of, “Yes, this is you,” the profound realization of finding my soulmate right there after so long. That first meeting wasn’t just an introduction; it was the beginning of everything.

Advice For Other Couples

Oh, absolutely! Here’s a little nugget of advice, especially for those just starting their married journey or still planning their “happily ever after”:

Focus on building your friendship. The romance is wonderful, but at the heart of a strong and lasting marriage is a deep and genuine friendship. Cherish your shared laughter, your inside jokes, your ability to simply be yourselves around each other. Be each other’s biggest cheerleaders and your safest havens. When the initial excitement settles, it’s that solid foundation of friendship that will carry you through the ups and downs.

And remember, just like our delayed honeymoon is something to look forward to, marriage is a journey, not just a destination. There will be beautiful, easy stretches and there will be challenging terrains. Communicate openly, be patient with each other, and never stop learning and growing together. Celebrate the big milestones, but also cherish the small, everyday moments. Those quiet moments of connection often weave the strongest threads in the tapestry of your life together.
