Nick and Lucinda’s wedding was crazy amazing and is right at home here at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings this afternoon hehe!
WWW readers Nick and Lucinda were married at the end of last year and held their reception at The Dairy, Waddesdon. They created a whimsical Alice in Wonderland inspired wedding, which also has a feel of a bygone era.
Lucinda ramped up the bridal style stakes with her gorgeous lace dress, with killer Gucci heels, a Lulu Guinness bag and a sweet wax headpiece. While Nick looked so awesome in his blue suit, with blue polka dot bow tie, tan shoes and a quirky cool buttonholes.
They DIY’d much of their day, crafting their amazing wonderland decor. With incredible wild and colourful blooms, carved pumpkins, a rustic cake surrounded by toadstools, butterflies, terrariums, teacups, amazing stationery and the sweetest floral bridesmaid dresses. I could go on all day, so i will let you see this wedding in all its glory for yourself 🙂
Thanks so much to the amazing Ellie Gillard for sharing her images with us today, here is what she had to say about the day;
“Lucinda and Nick’s big day was full of carefully curated handmade touches and considered off-beat vintage choices like the rickety but charming art deco bus that ferried first Lucinda and her bridesmaids to the ceremony and then the guests back to dinner. The reception venue was The Dairy at Waddesdon Manor and was the perfect choice for a wedding on a chilly Friday in November; cosy and dimly lit with yummy food and drink.
Lucinda used both Whimsical Wonderland and the Natural Wedding company to plan the day and this led to a bit of a quirky Wonderland theme with white rabbits, eat me and drink me table centrepieces and coupled with gorgeous rustic touches like the homemade chocolate wedding cake with lego cake topper.
As a photographer it was an amazing day to be a part of – their families were so proud of them both and the speeches were funny and heartfelt and they made me feel truly welcome. It was a day full of love, kisses and beautiful autumn sunlight – who could hope for more?”

Lying in bed at home – the ring was a fake one so we could go and pick one together from libertys (my favourite shop in the whole world) and was wrapped up in a fake soap box!

Looked at a lot of websites but main inspiration was whimsical weddings and the natural wedding company with some great DIY ideas and suggestions.
