This afternoon i am so thrilled to be getting to know WWW sponsor Coast. I am joined by Kim; the design director at Coast who is here to share all about her job at Coast and the dresses they design.

Hi Kim, could you firstly tell WWW readers a little bit about you?

I am the design director of Coast, I am married and I have fantastic 6 year old daughter.  We were married in NYC at county hall, after my husband proposed to me at the very top of the Guggenheim museum.  For a man that is very scared of heights it was quite a big moment for him as well as for me! It was all very fast and fun, we arrived in New York, he proposed and we were married a few days later! We didn’t even have a witness – we had to beg a man with the couple getting married after us to join our wedding too. Luckily he said yes!

What do you love/dislike about your job?

I love travelling all over the world with my job to find inspiration that will inspire the collections we design. I love all the people I have been lucky enough to work with in all the countries I visit as part of my role.  I also get a real buzz when I am in stores meeting customers as I love helping women feel confident, to look and feel their very best especially when it Is for the biggest day of their life.  There is nothing better than a satisfied customer.

How did you get into the fashion industry?

I trained in fashion design and I have worked within the fashion industry for over 20 years.  At coast we design collections for all occasions in a women’s life including her wedding day.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

Coast aim to help women feel beautiful, confident and comfortable, there is nothing worse than a dress that doesn’t fit or flatter.  You have to feel a million dollars on your wedding day and those photographs last a forever so the dress has to be just right.

How Would you Describe the style of your dresses?

Coast creates wedding dresses and accessories that are a little bit more unique and individual than the average traditional style wedding dresses. We have a real signature in our brand handwriting, the attention to detail and beautiful fabrics that you expect from Coast.  We also do not make many pieces of each wedding dress, so they are really quite limited edition.  Our dresses are premium; they are as lovely as designer dresses without the designer price tags.

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting wedding suppliers?

Always research and check out the customer feedback of any specialist you are planning to use for your wedding.  Start a mood board of all your ideas.  Sign up for Pinterest, its brilliant.  My biggest tip is making sure you look like yourself on your wedding day!
