Oh my. I cannot describe just how much I love these wedding ideas we’re featuring today, it really doesn’t get any cooler you guys!

Think edgy and alternative bride and groom style, a striking naked tipi backdrop and the most beautiful of florals. And all set against an iron viaduct for the perfect industrial vibe. I really love the statement cake and the edible menus and place names, they both look so ethereal and whimsy.

Wild Beauty Wedding Ideas

“We chose to feature this enticing iron viaduct as the backdrop for our inspirational wedding shoot. Completely inspired by this as a destination, we wanted to explore the trend for embracing and working with the surroundings, rather than trying to recreate a faux setting.

The dominating, dark lines of the ironwork provided design cues for stationery and décor. The menus and name settings were hand-crafted using edible ink on edible paper. The double-barrelled wedding cake had a brushed metallic finish which contrasted against the overlayed natural and flowing edible paper pieces. Vintage silver cutlery and cut glass vessels mimicked the metal and structural lines of the viaduct.

A colour palette of greens, soft whites and blush pinks softened the industrial feel and were purposely created to be texturally interesting. Foxgloves, Larkspur and Ammi created height and structure and accentuated the wild element of the setting, whilst large garden roses added romance and drama. Ranunculus and home grown Hellebores brought delicate detail and Olive and Eucalyptus tied the arrangements together as a whole.

The archway is trimmed with a beautiful garland, which not only works for stunning images of the bride and groom, but could also provide a photo-ready opportunity for guests when a prop-laden photo booth just isn’t the right vibe.

A touch of rock and roll was achieved through fashion and jewellery. Elle wears her Pins and Needles dress whilst the embroidered leather boots by Cara and the beautiful crystal necklaces by Tarr and Fether finish her look.

Scott’s leather jacket and she even cheekily borrows his hat to tame her undone bridal hair, left free to be taken by the wind in the most natural way. Elle’s makeup was a smudgy, raw and imperfect smokey eye whilst the rest of her makeup was kept minimal, so that the focus was purely on the eyes.

The bridal bouquet was tied with a silk wedding dress sash, encrusted with gems to also give a little rock and roll edge to the oversized bouquet.”
