Pretty Spring weddings are always a real delight to feature. Sunny warm weather, divine florals and happiness all round.
Natalie and Simon were married on the 18th May 2015 at Woodhall Manor in Suffolk. The country setting was just idyllic and the barns looked gorgeous decked out in rustic natural décor.
Their choices were simple, chic and stylish throughout. Natalie chose an exquisite lace gown by Stella York while Simon chose a navy three piece suit and tan shoes. The bouquets of pale pink roses and astilbe were utterly gorgeous alongside the maids in lilac.
Thanks so much to Fiona Kelly Photography for sharing these beautiful images with us.

THE PROPOSAL | Simon asked me to marry him during a hotel break at Devere Oulton Hall in Leeds. I had bought the stay in an auction at The Chloe Tate Ball at Oulton Hall the year before. We left late, as usual, and Simon was trying to usher me along without giving the game away. We ate in the restaurant then went for a walk, he asked me just by the fountain in the gardens. Then we celebrated in their stunning champagne bar with a bottle of Laurent Perrier Rose.
THE VISION | We had originally planned to marry in Italy, but we changed our plans after the tragic loss of our brother-in-law.
The new plan was for a small intimate wedding, as we would have had in Italy, at a grand but intimate venue in the UK.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | Simon found our wedding venue, and we drove over to Suffolk in February 2014 to take a look. It was a crisp sunny day and the sun was shining. The venue looked stunning even in winter (I’m a summer girl and like leaves on trees and lots of colour!) so we fell in love straight away.
I had already booked our photographer (before we had even set a date!), and knew exactly who I wanted as our florist and make-up artist too. The rest just fell into place!
BUDGET | £15k
THE VENUE | Woodhall Manor, Woodbridge, Suffolk.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Stella York – The Wedding Shop, Colchester.
FINDING THE DRESS | I searched endlessly online for the style of dress I wanted and to narrow down my preferred designers. Then I searched for the right shop based on the designers they stocked. It was hugely important to me that I liked the setting I’d be trying my wedding dress on, in. I am very fortunate to have been a bridesmaid more times than I can count on both hands, and I have visited quite a few bridal shops as such. I needed a bright, light, open space, where I could see each dress on display without having to prize them from an overcrowded rail. The shop needed to be pretty, it should be pretty. Dark carpets and curtains and no windows for me is just not the one.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Moss Bros
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We chose classical music for our seating guests, bride entrance, and our ceremony. Our favourites…
Suite for Orchestra No. 3 in D Major, BWV 1068: II. Air – Alfred Scholz & Philharmonia Slavonica
Symphony No. 100 in G Major “Military”: II. Allegretto – Alexander von Pitamic & South German Philharmonic Orchestra
Suite for Orchestra No. 3 in D Major, BWV 1068: II. Air – Alfred Scholz & Philharmonia Slavonica
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Charmaine Day (Maid of Honour), Rachael Leedham, Hayley Palazzetti, Olivia Stevenson.
Flower girls – Erin Wilson, Lyla Tate, Ava Hilton, Renée Williams, Isla Day.
THE FLOWERS | Lily & Ma
THE CAKE | Sweet Williams Boutique
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Fiona Kelly Photography
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Silver candelabra’s, hand decorated glass jars filled with a variety of flowers, champagne corks (accrued over eight years!) and ivory card for place settings, Mini Wonka bars (our daughter is a big Charlie & The Chocolate Factory fan) and ivory cake pops as favours.
THE HONEYMOON | Dubai
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | Simon being so nervous during the ceremony, and how cooly the registrar made wonderful light humour of it. Erin walking down the aisle with Charmaine with her leg in cast after breaking it 8 weeks prior. Sneaking out for photos when the rain finally stopped with our crazy bridesmaid Rachael on hand to help.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy planning, its as much a part of your wedding as the day itself. Do what’s right for you, and don’t worry too much about trying to please everyone else.
