Hands up… who’s excited for the new Beauty and the Beast film?

Anyway, I digress, because I have some super beautiful images to share with you today. The love story from the film and the eerie mansion, is perfect inspiration for a wedding. Dark, decadent and atmospheric. The details in this shoot would be perfect for an alternative wedding, or a really luxe autumn/winter celebration. Think dripping candles, rich florals and exquisite gowns. Enjoy every image folks.

“Tale as old as time… This shoot was inspired by Beauty and the Beast, but in the least Disney way possible! We wanted it to be opulent and full of jewel colours so we teamed vintage crockery with contemporary florals and super chic bridalwear. Starting off in the chapel at Arnos Vale Cemetery, our bride Belle lounges in her dramatic couture gown from Bowen-Dryden, surrounded by books, balloons and foliage as the sun streams through the huge windows. Belle then goes for a wander through the grounds in House of Ollichon’s ‘Stevenson’ outfit, accompanied by two giant balloons, one containing real rose petals and the other gilded in copper foil. The wedding breakfast takes place at Arnos Vale’s charming woodland wedding venue, the ‘Underwood Centre’. The banquet table is laid up with colourful mismatched crockery with gold accents, along with decadent dripping dinner candles and calligraphy place names in little baroque frames. The table plan is hand-painted on a striking gold mirror and large balloons in jade green, navy and gold bob about in the eaves of the open-sided barn, while the delicate silk ribbon backdrop flows in the breeze around the cake decorated with magical white chocolate scrolls and dusted red roses. Gibson Bespoke’s crystal chiffon train adds drama to the romantic scene and Belle’s velvety bouquet picks out the amethyst of Tessa Metcalfe’s “Claws of Engagement” ring. Following dinner, Belle retires to the fireside for a glass of bubbly in Gibson Bespoke’s mouthwateringly sparkly ‘Bacall’ Rose Gold Paillettes Backless gown and calls it a night!

We wanted to showcase the amazing wedding industry talent in the South West so most of the suppliers were from the Bristol and Bath areas and the coloured candles were made in Cornwall. The fashion designers were not South West based but all still from the UK/Ireland.”

“The bespoke wedding stationery was all about rich and romantic jewel tones with splashes of gold modern calligraphy and ornate flourishes, whilst the rose wax seal was a subtle nod to the fairytale.

We used a couple of antique gold mirrors to feature some calligraphy – large mirrors work so beautifully”
