All the industrial AND party vibes today folks courtesy of Helen and Skip’s brewery wedding held on the 13th April 2019. They were hitched at Holmes Mill in Lancashire, holding their ceremony and reception at the unique setting, which was just beautiful by the way. Their day was fuss free and simple, with a great party, food and drink! All the perfect ingredients for an awesome celebration.
Helen looked incredible in her custom made gown with lace sleeves and split skirt, Skip was suited and booted in ASOS, as were the bridesmaids in their floral frocks. Wasn’t everyone just so stylish? There was also an abundance of greenery, festoon lights and you’ll be glad to hear… cakes. Oh yes.
These sensational shots were captured by Ginger Beard Weddings, thanks so much for sharing them with us today guys!

We were living at Skip’s parents at the time having sold our house to fund a year travelling around the world. Skip waited until they had gone on holiday to propose. He brought me a cup of tea in bed along with a beautiful custom designed and made engagement ring! He simply said ‘will you marry me?’ After 8 years together I said yes, of course! We then went away for the weekend to North Wales to a beautiful BnB, we walked, drank champagne and ate great food. The weather was great too!

We just wanted to have a bloody good knees up!! We wanted a unique venue that had great food and good ales, where better to get married than a brewery! We were keen to have good music too. The vision for the wedding was less of a vision and more of a feeling I guess, we were less bothered about aesthetics of the venue itself, although on the day it was beautiful!

I hated wedding planning! I hate admin in general but it was a means to an end. Skip actually took care of most of the planning. He had a very detailed spreadsheet of everything we needed to get done. I took care of the dress (obviously) and all the finer details.

We got married at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe. A working Brewery in the heart of the Ribble Valley. We absolutely loved Holmes Mill from the moment we walked in there. A really unique venue and just the ‘feel’ we were searching for. It wasn’t local for any of our guests but with a hotel attached this didn’t pose much of a problem. The team there we so fantastic, the food was amazing and there was plenty to drink!!

Skip got his suit from asos! He ordered loads and we had a big trying on session. He’s a bit of a clothes horse so they all looked great on him. He settled for a green and navy check 3 piece suit, he looked fab on the day. My dress was made by my God Mother and designer Glenys Morton. We went shopping for fabric in London, such an amazing experience! I loved the whole process. The dress was very important to me. We chose the bridesmaid dresses from asos again. They were around £70 each and looked fantastic on the day.

Ginger Beard Weddings (Paul Williams) did our photography. He was soooooo great! So attentive and really got the style of photo we wanted to capture. He caught some great moments on camera that without Paul I wouldn’t remember. I really hate having my photo taken but he put me at ease all day.

My flowers were incredible!! Sam Williams was our amazing florist. She has a little shop near Clitheroe. She was really helpful and offered loads of great advice. We went for all greens and they totally took my breath away when they arrived on the day.

Memorable moments from the day include finally saying ‘I do’, first drinks and chats with our friends, speeches and our first dance.

Savour every moment, the day is over in a heartbeat.
Let other people take charge on the day and live in blissful ignorance.
Dance like no ones watching.
Make sure you have some ibuprofen for the day after!
