As those last moments of Spring turn into long hot Summer days, we are dreaming of those beautiful cherry blossom blooms we were treated to this year. We have just a small time frame to enjoy those candy-floss magical trees and it’s no wonder that they inspired the team behind these inspiring images.
Think a soft, pastel pinks and greens colour palette teamed with divine decadent blooms and luxe stationery. The bridal looks are out of this world with intricately detailed gowns, epic accessories and dreamy hair and make up styles. Then there was the buttercream iced cake complete with macarons, scrummy.
Thanks to Photography by Bea for providing these incredible shots.
“For years, I’d dreamt of creating a bridal shoot surrounded by blossom but one with an organic and bohemian edge. I took my inspiration from my favourite season, Spring, focussing on capturing its beautiful light and pastel hues.
After meeting with award-winning wedding dress designer Sharon Bowen-Dryden at one of South Farm’s open days, I discovered her latest 2017 bridal gown collection would be the perfect showcase. The collection “La Vie Est Une Fleur” features intricate crystal and floral silk embroidery in barely-there shades of Rosewater, Magnolia and Opal, and is inspired by the beauty of blossoms and wild flowers. It was a match made in heaven!
South Farm, nestled in the stunning Cambridgeshire countryside, provided the perfect backdrop for the shoot with its picturesque arched driveway shrouded in cherry blossom.
I wanted to involve as many of the venues preferred suppliers as possible so I selected a team of talented ladies who produced staggering results;
Heavy Petal provided the most incredible flowers; organic and unstructured bouquets with seasonal blooms including peonies, lilac, tulips and cherry blossom branches to name a few. The flowers Jo designed complimented the dresses and the setting so beautifully.
Izzy Wild created gorgeous make-up looks using soft pinks and browns which emphasised the models delicate alabaster skin tone and artistically styled her Rapunzel-like hair.
The biggest challenge the team faced was deciding on the date of the shoot. We were at the mercy of Mother Nature with the blossom stubbornly taking its time! Our patience eventually paid off – the blossom finally bloomed and our excited team sprang into action. The results were amazing! The whole shoot was stylised in soft shades of pink and green, depicting the joyous mood of spring time.”
