Festival season is fast approaching and I am sure this wedding feature today will get you in the spirit.
Tori and Adam chose to hold their tipi festival wedding in September 2015 and aptly named it ‘Xander Fest’. The whole day looked so care free and chilled. Think giant letters, majestic tents, DIY bouquets of lavender and stylish attire. A scrumptious hog roast fed guests whilst a live band kept everyone entertained. Long summer days here we come.
Thanks so much to Story and Colour Photography for sharing these dreamy images with us.

THE PROPOSAL | New York, November 2014.
THE VISION | A chilled out wedding/festival style party that represented us.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | Found and booked a field, booked the tipi’s, band, caterer and ceremony in Jan and then Tori went to India until March and they both planned the rest on her return.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Pretty easy to find, took a risk and bought it online, paid off as it was just what I wanted.
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Tailor made suit – A Suit That Fits.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Nils Frahm (music) and non traditional readings.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | 6 gorgeous bridesmaids.
THE FLOWERS | I did them myself. Got up super early and went to Covent Garden flower market with a friend the Saturday beforehand and made the bouquets and pin holes in our living room. Dad helped potting all the lavender plants.
THE CAKE | A family friend who has a side business made it. So awesome, we were really happy with it. 3 tiered lemon and vanilla layer cake.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Dan Corbett, really, really happy with the photos, cool guy too ; )
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Really laid back, we didn’t want it too whimsical but real and a true reflection of us – Named it Xanderfest! (Our new joint name – Alexander), and a festival style wedding. Adam’s a designer and pretty handy, my dad a carpenter, so the day before we spent a scorching day in the field cutting wood, making signs, carving out ‘alexander’ letters from chipboard.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | You WILL go over budget, whatever you may think! I didn’t believe it, but you will! Don’t let anyone sway your decisions. Make it a day that you both want, not what others want you to have. We were so so lucky with gorgeous weather, but totally prepared for torrential rain. Just go with it, don’t let the planning process stress you out. It’s meant to be fun!
