Guess what? If you’re envisioning a fun, relaxed and colourful day, you’re going to adore WWW readers Lucy and Tim’s Delamere Events wedding in Cheshire.
Their day was so personal with DIY decorations, a gorgeous ombre pink colour scheme (hello cape veil!) and an outdoor ceremony. There was a cool macrame-decorated tipi reception, stunning pink flowers, cool outfits and even a tassel bridal denim jacket.
The summer sun sure was shining on this beautiful festival-style wedding. You’re going to adore every little detail. Clare Robinson Photography thanks ever so much for sharing with us your magical images of one very special day indeed.
Lucy and Tim on WWW
Yes, I stumbled across WWW on Instagram whilst planning my wedding and it’s one of the few wedding related accounts I still follow since getting married. The images are all so unique and beautiful and provided great inspiration during the planning process and probably contributed to me changing our venue with 6 months to go!

I was going to meet Tim in Mexico in December and his mum gave me a homemade advent calendar to take out with me. But I got peckish so it didn’t get that far. I opened all the doors during the Christmas lights switch-on event at a pub in my hometown, surrounded by my parents and their friends and found the ring!
I totally ruined the surprise but I hate surprises and it’s a good story so I think it all worked out in the end. Tim made me wait a few days before getting down on one knee once I got to Mexico though which was torture! I will never look at an advent calendar the same again.
Originally I got a bit swept up in the more traditional wedding planning world but eventually decided we wanted something relaxed and fun but really personal. We love campervanning and the outdoors and wanted a mini-festival feel.

We had help from our parents so were able to have the wedding of our dreams but it’s true that a field wedding is not cheaper than a more traditional venue (but it is WAY better). We also had an open bar so this didn’t help the budget either!
Delamere Events, a large field with a beautiful lake, totally private with space for games and camping. Ryan and the team there were an absolute dream to work with. We decided to have tipis.

My dress was from True Decadence bought from The Edit in Hale, Cheshire – not a bridal shop. I tried on a few more traditional dresses on the same day in a bridal shop which were heavy, thick and expensive. Not my vibe. I wanted to feel comfortable, cool and free on my summer wedding day.
I also had a party outfit change for the evening which was a shorter sparkly dress more suitable for dancing from Adriana Papell. But the highlight of my outfit was my pink ombre flower crown.
We wanted a linen suit for Tim so he could be smart but cool too. He suits darker colours so we went for navy and matched the bridesmaid’s dresses to that.

Clare Robinson was our photographer, she was amazing and made us feel so comfortable. It was like having another bridesmaid on the day even though we’d only just met.

We saw lots of macrame in Mexico on the beach bars which inspired the decorations, all made by me. We had macrame plant hangers, some with plants, cut flowers, pineapples in pots, hanging from the beams of the tipi instead of table centrepieces.
This left room for the BBQ platters on the tables. The colour scheme of pink ombre was combining my love for the colour hot pink with the traditional white of a wedding. The cake, had pink ombre icing, my bouquet had white flowers on one side, fading into pink on the other matching my flower crown. And my cape veil was pink at the bottom.
Tim had a pink pineapple buttonhole which brought everything together.
Tim made the mountain archway for the ceremony which symbolised our love for the outdoors.

I walked down the steps and the aisle to Want Need Love by Prospa, it worked perfectly, with the lyrics kicking in just as I got to the bottom of the steps. Two of our closest friends from university conducted our ceremony which was so special and personal.
We wrote our own vows which we hadn’t shared before the ceremony. And my friend read a poem that I wrote as I couldn’t find anything I liked online. We wanted an outdoor ceremony and the sun gods shone down on us! It was a bit breezy but that just meant my cape was floating around beautifully.

We love being outdoors and hiking is something we love doing together so it made sense for us to honeymoon in the mountains. We have done a lot of travelling but had never been to the Dolomites in Italy and we were both totally blown away!
We stayed a few nights in an off-grid cabin in the mountains with amazing hikes from the door and a few nights in a spa hotel with an infinity pool with the most insane view.

Stick with the traditions that you like and get rid of the ones that you don’t. There’s no right or wrong to have your wedding, only your way.
We did a ‘first look’ and had all our couple portraits before the ceremony which meant we could get involved with the drinks and mingling straight after the ceremony which we loved. And it meant my hair and makeup was on point.
Pick suppliers that you get on with and get your vision, the wedding is more than just the day.

What a summer dream!
