I’ve definitely got that Friday feeling thanks to Cindy and Harris who are sharing their dreamy earth tone wedding in modern bohemian style. Oh my.
They were married in a back garden ceremony in Marietta, Georgia in the US on the 18th May 2019. Their day had a really creative and ethereal vibe, think pampas grass florals, gorgeous bridesmaid and groomsmen outfits and whimsical décor. I really love their first look, which was captured so perfectly, what a special moment indeed. I also have to rave about Cindy’s stunning gown called Avril by Rue de Seine, that lace! Harris meanwhile was suited and booted in a blue suit and tan shoes, didn’t they look amazing?!
Huge thanks goes to Aline Marin Photography for sharing with us these incredible images. Enjoy it all.

We grew up in different parts of the country and had completely different paths before meeting, so it feels crazy that Harris and I ever met. He had just moved to Texas and we met at the beginning of the senior year of college at Texas Tech University. We were both working at the university golf course. He was a cart guy and I was a cart girl, super cute I know. We bonded over our love for the outdoors and mountains. I told him about my plans of moving to a mountain town after graduation and he told me about his dream to be a ski instructor. One day after work he approached me with his number and told me to give him a call. I’d never had someone be so forward and I was very drawn to that! 2 years after we met we moved to a mountain town in Montana, a place full of adventure. Harris proposed to me during a camping trip in the middle of one of our favourite mountain ranges, The Crazies. It was entirely unexpected and beautiful. He proposed with his great-grandmother’s ring, exactly my unique style and exactly my size, making it that much more special.
Our wedding was inspired by the town Harris grew up in mixed with our love of the outdoors. We wanted a mostly earth-tone colour palette with plenty of greenery for our florals. Our wedding style was modern-bohemian.

The ceremony was held outdoors at The Oakton, a beautiful historic home in Marietta. The space was surrounded by tall trees and beautiful greenery, fitting so well into how we pictured our wedding day. My in-laws had recently opened a brewery with a gorgeous event space with brick walls and unique lighting, so we didn’t have to much decorating to do. We decorated our tables and food and bar with eucalyptus, plenty of candles and hung whimsical streamers above the dance floor.

I wanted mainly greenery with a few touches of blush and cream coloured flowers. My bridal bouquet was made up of eucalyptus, roses, calla lilies and pampas grass. All of the floral decorations, boutonnières and bouquets tied into my bouquet.
We wanted our day to feel truly us, while also treating our guests to something so unique and memorable! We last minute (I’m talking three days before) changed our plan to have our ceremony out The Oakton. We were able to transport our guest in a chartered school bus, so random but amazing! Harris and I also happen to both be school bus kids! For food we really struggled between having our favorites or having your standard wedding food. I’ll admit, at one point I would have never considered serving pizza at our wedding, because I’d never seen anybody do that! We got in touch with an amazing wood-fired pizza food truck and a catering company with the best southern-style dishes. We also served cannoli and cake, again, so random but amazing!

As soon as I saw Rue de Seine I was hooked. The free-spirited designs are exactly what I imagined getting married in. I initially fell in love with one of her dresses, but I tried on the Avril, a beautifully bold lace dress, and couldn’t picture anything else. It is everything!!! My wedding shoes were a nude sandal with a 3 inch heel from Target, they were perfect for all day. Harris knew he wanted to wear a classic suit. He chose a navy fitted suit, I’ve never seen him so handsome!

We had so many people travel from out of town for our wedding day and we had just moved across the country 3 weeks before and did all of the planning from long distance. I think we were so excited for the day to finally arrive and for us to see old friends and family we hadn’t in a long time. Since we lived so far away all through our engagement, many people at our wedding had not seen us during that time. It was all so emotional for us!

People say this over and over, but it rings so true: The day goes by so incredibly fast, and things wont go perfectly according to plan, but that’s what makes the day so memorable and amazing. Go with the flow and embrace the moments and each other!
