Spring Inspired Secret Garden Wedding Shoot
An elegant and whimsical shoot with luxury styling, featuring blush, muted blues and lilac, in a gorgeous English garden setting.
Our inspiration and concept behind this Secret Garden shoot began as soon as we visited the venue and explored the wonderful gardens Gaddesden has to offer. We used a soft pastel colour palette with soft blush pinks, lilacs, and muted blues, which were inspired by Spring. Our dream team of suppliers and our two insanely beautiful couples worked all their magic and together created the Secret Garden shoot of dreams!

We ended this shoot on an absolute high with the most dreamy nighttime set up tucked away in the garden with gorgeous lighting hanging from the trees, creating this perfectly romantic atmosphere.

When I saw the moodboard from Clare and Laura, I was instantly inspired by the wild romance and the beautiful tones of blush and blue/grey. I wanted to bring this feeling of romance through to the tables by creating soft, floaty, luxurious place settings full of texture, which would complement the different textures and colours found in the gardens of Gaddesden Estate.
I’ve always believed that by enhancing the space you already have, you can create much more impact than trying to transform a location into something different. So I always start with the surroundings.

The ageing brick of the walls around old garden inspired a blue and white tablescape, using natural materials to bring a romantic country feel to compliment the structure of the garden. I used billowy hand dyed linens, white wooden carved charger plates and debossed menus proving even more texture. The crystal and pop of gold in the cutlery and candlesticks, give a luxurious feel to the table.

For the blush table, my inspiration came from a conversation about antique tablecloths. I instantly knew that I wanted to use the soft linen as my inspiration for a completely unique “secret garden” table setting.
The images of a bride running through a garden, dress streaming out behind her led me to set the table hidden in a secluded area under the trees. The layering of linens in different shades of blush pinks and antique style tableware created the softness and romance with the dark wooden furniture complementing the surroundings perfectly.
