Happy days! Why I hear you ask? Because I am so thrilled to be sharing this totally beautiful Great Comp Garden wedding editorial with you today. Behind the planning and concept was both Fabulous Wedding Venues and Locate to Create with the most beautiful images sent over to us by Nicola Dawson Photography.
The concept behind the shoot was ‘wild meadow’ and throughout all of the styling and touches you will see pops of colour and pretty florals within a rustic and idyllic setting. There was illustrated floral stationery, a flower cloud installation, boxes filled to the brim with flowers, the most gorgeous bouquet and pink furniture. Oh my. Also look out for gorgeous attire, delicious looking food, a magnificent cake creation and stunning hair and make up. I really think you are going to be left feeling very inspired by these pretty wedding ideas.

Set in an idyllic rural location near Sevenoaks in Kent, it is centred around a gorgeous early 17th century manor house surrounded 7-acres of breathtakingly beautiful gardens. The gardens house a number of ruins, the Italian garden and areas of romantic tranquillity. The sweeping lawns and winding woodland paths will take you on a magical journey past the many exotic plants which have been collected over the years by the RHS Award Winning Curator, William Dyson.
Among the outbuildings there are two distinct spaces. The first is the Old Dairy Tea Room, full of rustic and vintage charm. The second is the quirky and unique Stable Theatre, fitted with cinema styled seating and a small stage. Zoe from Fabulous Wedding Venues has been providing venue consultancy to Great Comp Garden to set them up as a wedding venue. These two spaces were the focus for Zoe’s organised styled wedding shoot.

The shoot concept was created by Holly from Locate to Create and was entitled ‘Wild Meadow’. The aim was to bring the beauty of the outside gardens at Great Comp inside. We created table designs using rustic tables with wooden boxes filled with long meadow floral displays. Vintage bud vases with single stem flowers connected the table wooden boxes, cut glass champagne glasses and floral stationery together. Candles light the space setting the perfect ambience for the shoot. The main feature of the room design was a large foliage cloud with a few highlight flowers suspended from the ceiling beam. Lots of wild meadow flowers completed the look in front of the top table.

Holly from Locate to Create
Great Comp was an amazingly exciting shoot for the Locate to Create team. With the stunning and historical grounds creating an almost Old English ambiance, the team and I were brimming with excitement when embarking down the long driveway to the venue. With the location providing a contoured blank canvas, we really had amazing flexibility with how to best display our beautiful props and furniture. The earthy tones of the wider venue truly engaged our dark wooden products, boasting how gorgeous and complementary both the venue and suppliers could be. Venues like the Great Comp always remind us how sensational our 6ft wooden trestle tables can look, whether it be in a chic modern venue or a juxtaposing rustic barn such as the Great Comp.

The key theme we utilized throughout the venue was powerful displays of colour and texture, implemented through greenery and flowers partially sourced from the pedicured grounds. Fabulous pink flowers helped emphasize our popular products like our vintage pink sofa and pink set of draws known as Percy.

Great Comp really is a dream venue from a stylist’s point of view, the stunning natural beauty of the property allows us to enhance already remarkable features and strengthen other areas previously overlooked.
