Sophie and Fiona are here with us to share their magical Harvest Moon Weddings celebration in beautiful Scotland. Their day was truly authentic to them, with so much merriment and a lot of love.
They had a marquee to host their day, decked in DIY decorations, such as a beautiful flower arch, rag bunting and fun table names. Then there were the trio of gorgeous cakes, the pretty blooms and of course, their stunning outfits. From their confetti moment to the beachside portraits and emotional speeches, you’ll be sure to adore their day.
Lauren Stirling Photography, thanks ever so much for sharing with us your utterly mesmerising images.

We both proposed separately!
Fiona proposed first whilst we were on a trip in our campervan on the Isle of Skye. We pulled up into a beautiful camping spot, overlooking a Loch, after a big day of walking. We were cooking some fresh scallops in our mess tins that we’d got from the Oyster Shed in Skye (highly recommend) and drinking homemade strawberry gin, which is when Fiona popped the question. The most beautiful spot and such a special memory.
Sophie later proposed at our early family Christmas in December 2021 whilst in Edinburgh. She filled up a thermos flask with mulled wine, and we went up Blackford Hill (one of our favourite spots to overlook the city) to watch the sunset. It was typically windy that day, but Sophie proposed at the top of the hill whilst looking over Edinburgh and celebrating with a nice warm mug of wine! We attempted to set off sparklers which she’d brought, but it was far too windy!!

We knew that we wanted a big party for a wedding, preferably getting married outside/barn type wedding-and that we wanted to make a weekend of it! It was so important for us to get everyone together and just have a weekend full of love and fun!
Harvest Moon Weddings in Dunbar Scotland. Absolutely amazing site.We had all our friends stay on site for the whole weekend.
The site itself is split, with beach houses at one end and tree houses the other. It’s a few minutes walk to Tyninghame beach overlooking the Bass Rock. Such a perfect venue. We could BYOB and have a chilled affair. We hoped to get married on the beach, but it was too windy on the day, so we got married in the marquee instead! Still went for a pre-wedding swim in the morning though!

We wanted to keep it quite simplistic as the tables were quite rustic, but added a few extras to add some colour and nice lighting!

Our ceremony was led by Celebrant Katie Brown – Agnostic Scotland who was absolutely amazing. She made us feel at ease during every step of the planning and even more so on the day. She captured the room and spoke so eloquently. She put so much effort into getting to know us as a couple, which really shone through on the day. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to marry us.
With the ceremony, Fiona went down the aisle first with her dad. She walked down the aisle to ‘Old Mountain Thyme’ on the bagpipes played by two friends Matt and Rob. Sophie came second and was piped down to ‘Skye Boat Song’ with her dad.

Fiona – E&W Couture in Cardiff – they were absolutely brilliant. Tried on loads of dresses, they’re a bit less classical wedding dress styles. Decided on a 2-piece skirt top.
Sophie – Catherine Deane – tried on lots of different dresses and with the help of the lady there, I actually went for something I wasn’t expecting to like! Lovely place.
Shoes and accessories: Supergra white trainers and Converse white trainers. Jewellery all given to us for the day.

Lauren was the lead photographer, and she brought her lovely and very talented assistant Sinead with her too. Both AMAZING.
We couldn’t be happier with how fantastic they both were. It felt like they were one of our friends from the moment we met them and made us feel extremely at ease. Lauren was the perfect measure of capturing all the joy of the day and the guests and rallying us out into the cold to get pictures with our families, Bridesmaids and each other.
They both definitely captured our wedding perfectly.

We drove around Tuscany on a road trip for a week, drinking lots of gorgeous wine and eating lots of delicious pasta! We’re also going travelling for 6 months in November as an extended honeymoon to South America and New Zealand!

The morning swim, walking down the aisle and seeing each other, the speeches, walking around the tables behind the pipers to re-greet the guests after the ceremony, our spontaneous Shania Twain first dance and lastly, after the band played Loch Lomond at the end of the night, the crowd picked us into the air and we crowd surfed which was absolutely brilliant!

Oh so brilliant.
Sophie and Fiona, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your epic Harvest Moon Weddings wedding celebrations – wow!
