Welcome to the beautiful Lincolnshire country estate wedding of Ross and Laura, who were wed at Stubton Hall in the summer. They had an intimate, micro wedding with 34 of their closest loved ones and I have to say their day looked ever so special.
Not only were there the stunning green, orange and blue wedding colours, but there were some lovely touches. What with the sublime outfits, super pretty blooms and a gold leaf adorned cake creation.
Thanks so very much to HBA Photography for sharing with us these sensational shots. Be sure to soak up every single moment of Ross and Laura’s celebrations.

Ross’ father’s side originate from Prague and it had been somewhere we wanted to visit for a while! Being Mr and Mrs Claus, due to our love for Christmas, since being together we try and get a little city break to visit the Christmas markets each year.
In March 2017, for Ross’ birthday, I booked us a little trip to Prague for that December. Little did I know that for the next 9 months he was planning on getting down on one knee for me! Bearing in mind, with no knowledge of his plans, I spent majority of the holiday looking in ring shops and generally being a nuisance about wanting to get engaged!
While we were there, we did lots of sightseeing and met up with his family that live out there. On our final night we went out for a meal and after this Ross insisted that we walked along the Charles Bridge (for what felt like the 50th time of our trip).
So off we went and had a walk along, whilst on our way back, he stopped and got down on one knee!! My shock (and slightly drunken state) could only muster up a couple of swear words as my rely!
Obviously I said yes in a heartbeat and he whipped out a mini bottle of champagne that he’d carried with him from the hotel, which I paid for on checkout, unknowingly!

Our wedding changed due to Covid and we went from a winter wedding, to Spring and eventually a summer wedding.
We both admit we lost the love of planning due to all the changes, it was frustrating! With regulations changing constantly we decided to make the decision to cut our day down and keep it small with only 34 people.
We soon found our excitement back when we had the meetings with our amazing suppliers who managed to make us see what an amazing, intimate, dreamy wedding we could have! We kept colours to greens and blues, and the suppliers honestly smashed it!
Stubton Hall; Newark.

My dress was from The Wedding House Boutique. I had been elsewhere before this appointment but really didn’t feel anything suited me. Before going to TWH I had seen a photo on instagram that I liked. I showed the girls when I went in and they got me to try a couple others on first, they were lovely, but not me.
The second I put my dress on, I cried, I knew it was the one. I, much to my disappointment; was the only one to cry, but I knew it meant it was the one!
Ross’ suits were from Jon Paul’s Menswear. He did originally want a kilt, but with being in July, he decided to change to a suit. I went with him for his try on and when he walked out, I knew I wanted to walk down the aisle to him wearing it, he looked so handsome!

We spent many (drunken) nights, listening to different songs in which we both liked and even though they changed a few times, we kept to instrumental versions of songs we loved and meant something to us!

WOW! HBA were an absolute dream! We’d been recommended them so met up for a coffee and from that meeting, we knew we’d met friends for life. They were amazing. Ben on the day was perfect and you almost forgot he was there he blended in so well and made everyone feel so at ease.
We’d originally said we don’t want a videographer because we didn’t want to pay out for something we may only watch once a year. Well we’ve watched it about 30 times already and we’ve only been married a year. Tom at Marvelous Videos we found on instagram and loved his style. Luckily he was available on our date and we booked him immediately.
Like with Ben, Tom just made everyone feel so at ease and comfortable, and the end product.. makes us cry every time. So grateful for changing our minds!

We booked with Imagine Events for our styling, we liked the amount they had to offer and their ideas. Them with our florists, Nadia and David at Brown Box Flowers, were the reason we managed to find our love for wedding planning again. We were so laid back about what we wanted and almost left it in their hands.. and it still blows us away to see just how amazing they made our rooms look!!
We did some bits ourselves but had help with Lucy from Little Paperie for our stationery. Our invitations were amazing quality and we had so many compliments, them alone made people excited for our day!
Nat at Ruby Lou’s was who we decided to have for our cake and a cookie wall! She spoiled us with a lot of options of flavours and we got to sample so many, they were delicious. We kept the style of cake simple with some added help from Nadia and it looked amazing!

During Covid times, we were limited really of where to travel. We decided on a few nights in London and it was perfect. We even ended up booking an extra night we had so much fun! Sightseeing, drinks, lots of food.. it was the best time and we spent it in this amazing newlywed bubble the whole time!

I could write too many things with regards to memorable moments, there is so much I think of! Possibly though our band, they were the best! For all of us, we’d spent a year and a half in lockdowns so it was the first live music. Ross didn’t leave the dance floor the whole time, he was living his best life!
Our advice is to do the day how YOU want it. But remembering the day is for you to celebrate that the reason for this day is you are getting married. It’s so easy to run away with ideas and inviting everyone. But one thing I think we both treasured was spending the day with just 32 of our closest family and friends.

Such a gorgeous day!
Ross and Laura, thank you both so much for sharing your amazing Lincolnshire country estate wedding story with us.
