Ever been to a bluebell woods? It’s so magical. They just give off such a special atmosphere, I’d totally recommend a visit to your local bluebell haunt come bluebell season.
It’s no wonder that the team behind these sensational ideas were inspired by the venue and it’s gorgeous setting. Think the most divine Spring blooms in an array of colours, the prettiest cake table you ever did see and glorious styling. The bridal look was so very pretty with the bride donning a lace gown and delicate hair vine. Enjoy these super special images folks.
Many thanks to Heline Bekker Photography for sharing these sensational shots.
GWENDA of Bohotanical & The Gilded Fern tells us;
“The Dreys is set in a private woodland estate in the Kent downs area of outstanding natural beauty, completely secluded in the centre of the privately owned 80 acres of ancient woodland. They are just 40 minutes from central London, complete with camping facilities. They are licensed for legal ceremonies within the field shelter and woodland blessings deep amongst the trees and wildflowers. It’s a magical place and we were thrilled to create this look there.
I chose some Springtime classic flowers, mixed with some woodland foliage, to create a look which complemented the season and the beautiful location. Using a palette which consisted predominantly of whites and greens, I added just a touch of blue to echo the bluebells which where carpeting the woodland floor. The bouquet was informally-structured with varied tones and textures. The table flowers were place in small groupings in mixed glass bottles, set upon wood slices to vary the heights further and add interest to the tablescape.
The modern rustic stationery is from my ‘print your own’ range – it encapsulated all the colours and floral elements that were to be found in the rest of the styling. We were fortunate to have some of Room Seven’s furniture and props to help reinforce the rustic-chic look; the ladder shelves in particular made a less conventional display for the beautiful cakes. The 3 tier cake includes 2 tiers of white lace icing and a tier of pale blue decorated with soft pink blossom and perfectly finished with a raffia bow. Two further cakes were decorated in buttercream icing, which is becoming an increasingly popular choice for weddings cakes. These were decorated with both sugar blossom and also fresh blossom.
The Katya Katya Shehurina dress had a beautiful pale blue slip, with a fine lace overlay, adding a perfect touch of Spring colour (and doubling as a bride’s ‘something blue’). In keeping with the delicate nature of the gown, the hair and make-up were both kept youthful and subtle. The hair vine was similarly chosen for its pared-back elegance, using luxurious mother of pearl flowers individually hand-wired in clusters. These were mixed with tiny swarovski crystals and pearls to add a gentle sparkle. The use of flexible silver wire enabled the vine to be weaved through the hair, and a few simple matching hairpins were added to give a bit more detail at the back of the hair.
The look was completed with a pair of soft ivory suede shoes; the heart shaped peep-toe is edged with small embroidery flowers, all individually cut and stitched on by hand. A delicate embroidery embellishment decorates the back half of the shoe and flows down the heel. In all, an apparently understated, but effortlessly romantic ensemble, with exquisite attention to detail.”
