We’re in beautiful Ontario for Giulia and Shawn’s micro wedding which was held on the 12th September 2020. Their day was held outdoors at Giulia’s aunt’s cottage, it was ever so pretty. They were married in the gardens against pampas grass and palm flowers followed by their outdoor reception. They kept things simple and didn’t focus on decor, instead, they kept the focus on the feel of their celebrations, that’s something I can completely get behind!
Giulia and Shawn both looked amazing in their outfits, I also love that Giulia was a glasses-wearing bride (always be yourself!) and the pink and red bridesmaid dresses looked so great. I shall leave you with the stunning and happy images from Cacie Carroll Photography, which I am really grateful to be sharing today.

Shawn and I met 10 years ago at a friend’s party. I had a boyfriend at the time, and he was just some random at the party. A few months after that, when I was now single, we met again through another friend at university. It was actually me who gave Shawn my number first!
We wanted our day to be fun and carefree. We had to change our plans a little bit because of COVID, so choosing my aunt’s cottage felt right. Shawn and I both love cottage people and being outdoors, so we felt it was super fitting to go there. It was a beautiful night with twinkle lights and it helped with the overall feel of casual but cute, non-stuffy vibe we were going for.
We didn’t do much decor! We had some dried bouquets around the ceremony spot and reused those for the reception to add some pizzaz. We had some photos of us strung up with twinkle lights and tiki torches around the property to create a warm, cozy and cute vibe.
Everything was dried florals! Because of COVID, plans changed last minute and we went with the flow!

We got live music because Shawn loves live music. We set up lawn games because we both love games. Lastly, we shared it with the most important people in our lives!
I’m a simple gal and Shawn wanted to look classy. We aren’t overly fancy, I wore slip-on runners for under my dress even!

I’d have to say walking down the aisle was the most nerve-wracking part but we couldn’t wait to see each other!
Down the road you aren’t going to remember the little things, you are going to remember how you felt that day so make sure to enjoy it and take it all in because it goes by in a flash!
