WWW readers Jemma and Luke are here with us to share their summery and elegant The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe wedding in Cornwall.
Their day was effortlessly beautiful, with white wedding flowers and sage green foliage throughout. There were romantic decorations, super gorgeous outfits and lovely views of the sea. It’s also lovely to see such sweet photos with a very cute dog!
Many thanks to Grace Elizabeth Photography for sharing with us these utterly enchanting images of such a special day.

Luke proposed in 2019 on my 25th birthday, shortly after we bought our first home, where he proposed.
After Luke proposed in 2019, we planned to get married in 2022, as this would be our 10-year anniversary on 16th September. The wedding was then planned around this date and other key factors such as location which was very important to us. Vision-wise, my Pinterest boards, were filled with foliage, white floral and green.

Budget – £15,000
Actual spend approx £17,000.
Ceremony – Mount Edgcumbe House
Reception – The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe
Both of the venues are located on the Mount Edgcumbe estate in Cornwall. The estate looks over Plymouth and Plymouth Sound. This was really important to us when choosing a venue as we wanted somewhere that was special to us and our relationship. We both attended Plymouth University where we met and a lot of our dates involved this and exploring the surrounding area. We also bought our first home just outside of Plymouth.

The ceremony music was all selected from a few of our favourite films.
After seeing Grace’s work in a wedding magazine and Instagram we knew that her style was how we wanted our day to be captured, so we booked her as our first supplier. We received our photos from Grace and were blown away with the exceptional quality of photos she produced. She captured so many special moments for us that we didn’t even get to experience on the day which made them even more extraordinary.

Bride – The Wedding Company, Plympton (Brand: Enchanted)
I tried on several different dresses from Madi Lane as this is what I initially envisioned (floral, tulle dresses) but decided this didn’t fit my shape or the venue as they were too fairytale/whimiscal. As soon as I saw my dress I knew it was the one, as the lace crepe style and sweeping train was more suited to the venue.
All my hair accessories and jewellery were white gold and emeralds to match my engagement ring. This was an heirloom from Luke’s grandmother, and was really important for us to be incorporated as her birth stone was emerald, which is the same as mine and Luke’s other grandmother. Both unfortunately passed before our wedding.
Groom – The Grooms Room, Plympton (Brand: Peter Posh)
I choose the suit to best match our venue. I initially wanted a whole tweed suit but decided against as the venue wasn’t very country and due to the time of year a 3-piece wool suit would have been too much. Instead, I choose a navy suit with a light tweed waistcoat which was better suited to the venue.
The cravat and pocket handkerchief colour was chosen to match the main green and foliage of the colour palette.

All styling and décor was all designed with the theme in mind. (Green, Foliage, White Floral, Simple, Elegant). Some of the more personal décor we did DIY such as signage, table plans, table numbers, name place settings, memory board, card box.
All of our favours we bought from MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of family members we have lost to cancer. All other décor and styling was done by other suppliers listed below.

Currently planning a cruise to Iceland/Northern Fjords.
Luke – Jem being late to walk down the aisle, Jem eventually walking down the aisle, picking up wrong ring during the ceremony due to nerves, and the photo safari with the photographers.
Jemma – Getting ready with family, marrying Luke and enjoying our evening reception with friends and family.

You do you. Don’t let anyone push you into booking/doing anything ‘traditional’ thing you are not comfortable with. We did not have any stag/hen do’s, first dance and speeches.
Oh so glorious!
Huge thanks to Jemma and Luke for sharing with us their very special The Orangery Mount Edgcumbe Wedding story with us.
