Organic Foliage Rustic Wedding Ideas

Oh my days. How much I am loving the above images and the super sized wreath bouquet alternative? Such an inventive, creative and unique wedding idea. In fact this whole wedding inspiration shoot is filled with ideas for a stylish and organic wedding style. The team behind the shoot were inspired with the Martin Charles’ range of two piece wedding dresses and from there a foliage filled, rustic wedding evolved.

The vibrant greenery really set the tone, placed in bottles in crates and on wooden ladders. The stationery featured an illustrated wreath design and the groom wore green tweed. Such a gorgeous set of images.

“The inspiration for our shoot started with Martin Charles’ range of two piece wedding dresses. Bridal separates are a current trend and are usually photographed in a modern edgy way but we wanted to show how they can suit any bride and any wedding.

For this particular dress with its short crop top, we imagined the bride having an outdoor wedding or tipi reception so we wanted a slightly festival feel. Polly’s hair was styled in a loose plait and kept soft with waves and delicate tendrils to frame her face. A eucalyptus flower crown kept the look modern and natural. Long natural looking lashes and a bold berry lip kept the feel striking and individual. The look was finished off with pale mint nails.

The groom wore a green tweed waistcoat, braces and a bow-tie in green.

We wanted lots of natural foliage rather than flowers, so instead of the bouquet we created an oversize foliage hoop, with a calligraphy banner. A great prop for your photos as well as unusual décor!

To bring out the rustic setting and the stone background, we created a set with vintage props to show off the cake and stationery. Piles of vintage crates are a great way to display the cake and we used lots of moss, vintage bottles and vases filled with leaves and herbs to bring it to life.

The cake has a pale green marble effect in the icing which was inspired by the current trends for textures and watercolours. The wreath is made from individually handmade sugar paste leaves, wired and taped together. The calligraphy monogram is hand-painted and lends a slight Nordic influence to the rustic look.

The stationery used a wreath design and modern calligraphy like the cake, in greens, printed on textured card for a tactile organic feel.”
