Colourful & Fun Industrial Wedding Filled With Love

We are headed to Paintworks in Bristol today for incredible wedding of WWW readers Mitch and Amy who were hitched on the 6th October 2018. Their day was filled with personality, colour and love all round. It really is a very special celebration indeed.

Their industrial vibe venue was just so gorgeous and provided the perfect setting to their outdoors in wedding day. It meant that they could also have their ceremony and reception all in one fantastic location. Talking of their ceremony I am just in love with the flower installation they used as a backdrop. It looked so organic and wild, plus it featured greenery and pampas grass galore. Amaze.

These two have a lot of style and I have to say just how stunning Amy’s lace gown is, especially teamed with those pink boots. Mitch meanwhile was suited and booted in Hugo Boss and Nike hi tops, with the rest of their wedding party in mismatched outfits.

The Proposal

A year earlier, eating takeaway watching a film, Mitch put the ring on Amy’s finger without her noticing and a couple of hours later Mitch had to point out the gesture, quite embarrassing for both!

The Vision

Bringing the outdoors in! Didn’t want to be weather dependent so didn’t even take the risk and thanks to the incredible Lucy at Green&Envy flower styling, along with Mitch who is quite luckily an art director, between them made magic! The venue is quite a large, industrial space so what they did was incredible.

The Planning Process

Haha, we chose the first venue we found, the first dress I found, and the rest seemed really easy! Our flower/event stylist and photographer were the most impressive by far and we chose WELL they were both on the day just brilliant we couldn’t be happier.

Budget

We made a small list between us what was most important to us and worked out the budget from there.

The Readings & Music

Ceremony was performed by Helen Jubb, a wonderful celebrant who made everything so personal and heartfelt, she really got to know the bride and groom, and quite last minute too!!

A steel drum band played as guests entered and post-ceremony whilst photos were taken, and Moscow Drug Club played after dinner, however the highlight of music was all the detail Matt Boyd (music supervisor!) put into every piece of music from the aisle song, first dance, to each carefully selected dance floor belter!!! There was NEVER an empty dance floor.

Also the absolute highlight of the day I think everyone agrees was a 15 minute surprise musical interlude, a performance by the bride’s brother, cousin, friends, and even dad!

The Venue

The Paintworks, Bristol. Ideal. A space where we could do whatever we wanted, no restrictions! Close to local transport and a city and we could have ceremony and reception under one roof!

The Details & Décor

Between the groom, the bride, Green and Envy (mostly) and Matt Boyd, so much detail was put into the place settings, wedding stage, bouquets and confetti canons!! It’s all in the detail!!

We would also highly recommend crockery hire! We got some incredible pieces for over 120 guests from small vintage cake plates to water glasses! PKW (Pot Kettle White) had such a great range to choose from! And amazingly priced and great company to work with.

Bridesmaids

Matching bouquets but the dresses all different lengths, designs, colours, textures and shapes! Hair all different, just wanted everyone to be comfortable.

Your Outfits & Accessories

Mitch wore black Nike hi tops and a Hugo Boss suit, and Amy wore patent leather pink stone Goya boots with a Jeneva gown from Catherine Deane.

Your Photographer

The fabulous Matt Willis. I knew he’d be good just from general correspondence but he was GREAT!! Cool as a cucumber, great to have around on the day, and an absolute ninja with a camera. Not to mention the photos themselves, I couldn’t have imagined them any better.

Beauty

Amy is a TV hair and make up artist so half the bridesmaids were also pretty skilled in this craft. We got by!

Groomsmen

Mix-matched! Wear whatever they wanted and were bound together with beautiful buttonholes!

The Cake

SEVEN cakes all homemade by Amy’s boss Lucy Cain, including icing sculptures of the bride and groom!!! Incredible.

The Flowers

Green & Envy went above and beyond!!! There aren’t enough praises I can sing to Lucy.

The Honeymoon

Christmas in Chicago, new year in the Caribbean, and Disneyland in January when the kids have gone back to school!!

Credit Where Credit Is Due

So brilliant! And what better way to end the day than with all the confetti?!
