Good morning and happy Friday WWWers. I hope you have a lovely weekend planned? Before you head out of the office to enjoy the sunshine (hopefully) let me share with you this super pretty Spring wedding day.
Jade and Chris were hitched on the 15th April 2017 at Priory Cottages in North Yorkshire. They chose the venue thanks to it’s ample accommodation, barn and the marquee, which gave them a wonderfully blank canvas to really make their mark. With a chic grey and lilac colour palette they went all out with soft pastel décor, the results really were stunning. Hanging lanterns in the marquee, blended with fairy lights and wooden and hessian touches galore… Featuring a wooden sign post, personalised wooden coasters and a ladder seating plan to name a few.
One of my very fave elements from their day though has to be the cake table. It is nothing short of a masterpiece. A ruffled grey cake takes centre stage surrounded by intricately decorated cupcakes and cake pops. Oh my!
The couple and their wedding party really looked the part too. The boys were suited and booted in check grey tweed suits and bow ties, the maids wore flowing dresses and Jade fell for a lacey low back number, which fitted like a glove. Let’s not forget those sparkly Jimmy Choos too! Oh YES.
Hayley Baxter Photography, I cannot thank you enough for providing these lovely images.

THE PROPOSAL | After a family holiday in Italy, Chris surprised me in the airport that we were now jetting off to Santorini for a few nights! Chris got down on one knee and popped the question watching the sunset over the amazing backdrop of Santorini. Of course I said “yes” and fireworks were set off. Amazing J
THE VISION | Soft pastel colours with a rustic/vintage/romantic theme with a relaxed, family vibe!
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had around 8 months to plan, we knew we wanted a spring wedding and didn’t want to wait too long. The planning process consisted of multiple lists, spreadsheets and Pinterest boards! Inevitably it had its moments of stress, but we have a fantastic family who helped make our dreams come true in such a short space of time.
BUDGET | We didn’t give ourselves a strict budget, but knew not to get too carried away!!
THE VENUE | The gorgeous All Saints Church in Wighill for the ceremony. After a vintage wedding bus took guests to the Priory Cottages & Wedding Venue in Wetherby for the reception. The Priory had everything we could ever need for our wedding day. The barn for the drinks reception, the marquee is the perfect blank canvas for us to create our own style and having the seven adjoining cottages available to us for our family and friends made it a real celebration that lasted more than a day. Everyone at the venue was so helpful and Serena and Phoebe made sure our day went as smoothly as it possibly could have done.
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | My dress style was high neck, low back with Jimmy Choo Sparkly heels. I wore Swavorski earrings to complete my outfit, which were a gift from my Mum.
FINDING THE DRESS | The dress came from Brides To Be, a local shop to me. The ladies here were so helpful and I found my dress on the first and only day of dress shopping. Me and my mum then went to the pub for champagne to celebrate! Easy peasey!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | I didn’t see his suit until the day but I wasn’t disappointed. Chris went for a gorgeous grey tweed suit and bow tie. Shoes were from Loake.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | We had two church readings: Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, read by mother of the bride and 1 Corinthians 13, read by father of the groom. We had drinks reception music by Colour Blue and a DJ & Saxophone in the evening, both provided by Jonny Ross Music. Chris’ Best man Jack Balme, also wrote us a rap which he performed just after the first dance – amazing!!!
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | My sister Samantha and life-long best friend Sarah. Our three year old niece Maria was our beautiful flower girl.
THE FLOWERS | I went to a local florist called Heavenley Harvests. Gabriella is incredibly talented, and was so helpful leading up till the wedding, the flowers she created for us were stunning.
THE CAKE | From the lovely Nicola at The Pretty Sugar Cake Company. We went for a 3 tier cake of Vanilla and Raspberry amazingness! Cupcakes and cake pops to match with vintage detailing of lace, pearls, roses and ruffles: Flavours of bakewell, lemon and chocolate salted caramel. They all tasted as good as they looked! Yummy!
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Hayley Baxter Photography. She was totally awesome and just blended in on our day; capturing all the important bits and every bit in-between. We loved everything about the style of Hayley’s photography and are absolutely thrilled with the photos of our day.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | All our wedding stationery from the invitations, order of service and table plan were brilliantly designed by Sarah Wants. The decoration of the marquee was quite simple. We chose a soft colour scheme of lilacs and greys. My mum decorated jam jars, which we used on wooden blocks for the centre pieces; and filled these with flowers to match the bouquets. We hung lots of paper lanterns in colours of lavender, grey, and white. Each guest had a personalised wooden coaster as a wedding favour from Dust and Things (which also doubled up as name settings!).
THE HONEYMOON | We left for our honeymoon two days after the wedding and had an amazing honeymoon in Dubai and Thailand.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | My Dad first seeing me in my dress, of course the ceremony, The speeches (Chris’ speech had everyone in tears). After the first dance Chris’ best man performed a rap for us that he had wrote. The whole day was fantastic and something we will remember forever!
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Remember what your wedding day is really about. Of course the venue, décor, flowers, finishing touches are all important and what us girls dream of and spend hours creating Pinterest boards on. Of course I whole heartedly agree that you should go all out as much as you desire with this but remember it is just a backdrop to your day. Standing next to your new husband, surrounded by all your family and friends, feeling the love from them while you pledge to spend your life together is what you will remember forever and there’s no feeling quite like that.
