A classic country house has to be the epitome of the quintessential English wedding. Inspired by Pynes House and it’s connections to Jane Austen this shoot really caught the look and brought it bang up to date.
A dreamy gown and veil combo worked with soft make up and a delicate headdress for the bridal look, while the groom was in traditional attire. There were opulent foliage displays alongside book art and pastel pretty cakes too. So beautiful.
Thanks so much to McKenzie-Brown Photography for sharing these wonderful images with us.

“Pynes House sits majestically nestled in the lush green countryside just outside Exeter. It is believed that Jane Austen stayed here on one of her holidays to Devon and that it inspired Barton House in ‘Sense and Sensibility.”

FROM THE STYLIST | For this simply romantic shoot set against the stunning backdrop of Pynes House, I took influence from classic novels said to have been inspired by Jane Austen’s knowledge of the house. The cool calm and collected pallet and light flooded rooms gave us this soft and timeless look. Unstructured plaiting and foliage weaved in to the hair was created by Gerschwins Hair Design. The dewy make up with a heavy eye brings this demure look up to date, effortlessly achieved by Genevieve Satha. The subtle palette was infused into stunning cakes that made a statement without being over the top, handmade by Cherry Blossom Cakes. Our dashing groom was in traditional attire supplied by Daw and Co, while our sublime bride wore a classic silhouette with soft overlays supplied by Lily and Louie. The table was dressed with a garland of greenery scattered with stunning ivory blooms, created by Emma Hewlett Flowers. Effortlessly simple, capturing the love and history that has been bought back to life in this jewel of a venue, set amidst the rich Devon countryside. Completely and utterly dream like! All captured beautifully behind the lens by Natalie.
