Let me transport you to a dreamy summers day, filled with love, smiles and romance a plenty.
WWW readers Lyndsey and Giancarlo chose to marry on the 28th August 2015 at the stunning Solsgirth House by Dollar in Scotland. They hoped to create a romantic wedding filled with metallic touches. A blush pink and white colour scheme ran throughout the details, with divine blooms tied up in reams of ribbon, sequin rose gold tablecloths and bridesmaids in sparkly frocks.
Lyndsey wore a beautiful off the shoulder gown by La Sposa, accessorised with a long veil and Jimmy Choo heels. Giancarlo opted for a check Hugo Boss suit and tan shoes. What a super stylish and elegant couple.
Thanks so much to Craig and Eva Sanders Photography for sharing these exquisite images with us.

THE PROPOSAL | On the beach, on holiday in Turkey and a complete surprise!
THE VISION | Romantic with metallic touches. We were clear we wanted the day to be a real treat for our guests and not too formal so everyone would relax and have fun. I also wanted to incorporate a few Italian touches to go with my new name!
THE PLANNING PROCESS | Pinterest, Pinterest, Pinterest… and wedding blogs of course!
BUDGET | We haven’t brought ourselves to calculate final spend yet but whatever it was it was worth every penny, hopefully our parents would agree too as they were a big help which was fantastic THANK YOU again if you are reading!
THE VENUE | Solsgirth House by Dollar, Kinross-shire, Scotland. It was the first venue we visited and although we saw a few after we already knew we had found our place. It is a beautiful venue inside and out – key for a Scottish summer wedding!
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress and veil by La Sposa and purchased from Diane Honeyman Bridal, Ayr, Scotland. Shoes by Jimmy Choo.
FINDING THE DRESS | We had to be decisive due to time (from engagement to wedding was 10 months which flew past), luckily we found “The One” fairly quickly and the experience was perfect, just as I had imagined. Wish I could wedding dress shop every weekend!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Suit and shirt by Hugo Boss, shoes from Jones Bootmaker. Again after a little pre shopping research online we found Giancarlo’s suit very quickly, it was one of the first he tried on.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Readings: “I carry your heart “by E.E. Cummings was read by my sister, Raechel, “I love you because”, Jonny Cash lyrics were read by myself and Giancarlo, “Cold Feet” a comical Scottish poem was read by Giancarlo’s uncle George and had everyone in stitches.
Music: Some good friends of my sister are in a string quartet, Appassionata, they provided the music for the reception and ceremony including “Your my best friend”, Queen and “The Way You Make Me Feel”, Michael Jackson. For the evening’s dancing we had Funk Nation a great Scottish funk, soul and disco band both were fantastic, we felt strongly music should be a big part of our day.
BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | Raechel McGinn – chief bridesmaid and sister of the bride, Alison Stewart and Lynsay Salim all wore dresses from a collection by Aidan Mattox for Coast. I originally planned to have three different dresses to let the girls all choose what they liked best however when they saw this dress all together on a shopping trip in London I knew I couldn’t take away from any of them and they all looked so beautiful in it, so in the end they all wore the same. I was keen to give them something they could wear again to a special occasion.
THE FLOWERS | A close family friend, Susan captured my vision perfectly, at the time she was free-lance however you can now find her at Jennifer Morrison Stirling Florist.
THE CAKE | Another very kind and talented family friend, Margaret baked our beautiful cake for us.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | The wonderfully talented and great fun Craig and Eva Sanders were our photographers and gave us these beautiful images which we will cherish for years to come.
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | A combination of rent, buy and DIY! We rented items such as table runners, numbers, white carpet and the hurricane lanterns from All Dressed up in Alexandria near Loch Lomond. I bought several items from Etsy such as the metallic vase centre pieces which we gave to the female guests as favours to take away. The place settings, table plans, invitations and save the dates were all produced by the fantastic EYI Love in Glasgow. We put our own personal touch to the wedding with our home made Limoncello liquor and by fashioning the corks to hold the place cards. We also had an ice cream cart on the day as Gianni’s family run an award winning ice cream business, Porrelli, Café Style Ice Cream– shameless plug 😉
THE HONEYMOON | Tokyo for five nights then on to Gaya Island Eco Resort in Borneo for the remaining nine nights – amazing from start to finish!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | All of it! Too many wonderful memories of the day to name! What I hadn’t anticipated were all the lovely moments in the lead up to the big day which are equally special, weddings really are such a great way to bring friends and family together.
ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Have the wedding you want, I caused all sorts of drama the morning of the wedding by being determined to have the ceremony outside (despite the rain showers) and when the moment came the sky cleared and it was perfect.
