Katy the founder of Rustic Rose is here to share all about her wedding services for couples today. Rustic Rose have their own wedding shop in Sturminster Newton, Dorset and travel across the South West to create stunning arrangements for their clients.

Katy’s whimsical, blousy florals often feature seasonal and locally sourced blooms and have a real natural and wild feel. Plus they specialise in Rockabilly style, how cool is that? Let’s find out more…

What do you love and dislike about your job?

I have always had a real passion for colour and design, being imaginative has got to be the best bit!! My dislikes – The chilly winter days in the flower shop!!

How did you get into the wedding industry?

Aged 20, a perfect opportunity arose for a shop in Sturminster Newton Dorset, my local town. The shop had huge windows facing North, a workshop room above and pavement space for planted treasures and flowers outside. I was buzzing for the challenge ahead.

6 years later, we are creating wedding and event flowers throughout the South west of England. My style is country but with colour! Combining seasonal flowers, interesting textures and a touch of hot vintage. We now specialise in rockabilly style weddings!

I love working with brides closely right from the initial free consultation, using their ideas and visions to achieve a completely bespoke package of colour, shades and their very own customised design and flower choice.

If you could choose another role in the wedding industry what would it be?

Wedding and Event Management.

What do you aim to achieve for your clients?

Fulfilling their vision by providing lots of different ideas, from bridal flowers, church or venue! Ensuring every wedding style is unique and sassy!

What style is your work? How would you describe your style in three words?

Hot, Rockabilly, Colour!

Could you tell us some information about your packages/prices?

It is so important for me to meet the bride and groom in person. I like to organise a relaxed get together in my country flower shop to discuss ideas and build a portfolio together from a wedding theme, colour and design.

Do you have any tips for couples in selecting their wedding florist?

A close working relationship with any wedding supplier is key in achieving your unique design.

Are you seeing any trends for the year ahead?

Its all about Grey! Simple and stunning.
