Let’s take a look at the pros of a staycation wedding in the UK, shall we?
First up, reducing your carbon footprint, by holding your wedding closer to home is going to be greener and more eco-friendly. You’ll also be supporting the UK wedding industry and potentially many local small businesses. And finally, of course, the unknowns of travelling overseas in the post-pandemic world, when there are still question marks over what will happen in future months and even years in terms of travel.
So when this beautiful staycation inspired editorial landed in my inbox I was over the moon. It clearly demonstrates that tropical vibes, beachy beautiful portraits and a holiday atmosphere is totally achievable here in the UK.
Jade Touron Photography kindly sent over these images which are bursting with colour, tropical style flowers, dreamy gowns, a dapper green suit and striking stationery. I am sure your guests would totally get that destination feeling if your wedding had a well thought out scheme such as this. Enjoy it all.

Our vision was to bring tropical destination vibes to a British seaside wedding shoot. The Beacon House in Whitstable is a waterfront, intimate wedding venue. With key features like a covered veranda, it is ideal for UK clients that want that ‘staycation’ wedding vibe. A seaside Airbnb with a license to hold legal weddings, and stunning beach views as the backdrop.

Our inspiration was to bring destination wedding styling to a UK venue. With our seaside location, we used tropical floral designs to create a colourful, fun yet stylish set up. Raffia lampshades hang over a rustic wooden table, with raffia placemats, warm stone, gold and orange hued tableware.

And for drinks, a coconut bar stocked with fresh coconuts, cocktail shakers and bespoke signage. Monstera leaves and kentia palm made up the large arrangements and flowers featured included pink anthurium and pale pink gingers.

The table was placed under the cover of the front porch, giving some protection to the elements as well as providing something to hang the lampshades from. It also offered a perfect sea view. The beach ceremony is just a simple open deco screen, adorned with palm leaves and tropical flowers.

The groom wore a dark green suit to tie in with the palm leaves, and a statement tie. The bride opted for an ethereal Anna Kara design that floated gently in the sea breeze. Her hair down in a relaxed, beachy do.

The bouquet featured pale pink anthurium, orange pincushion protea, coral Vuvuzela roses, mini pineapples, hot pink celosia, hot pink phalaenopsis orchids and pops of pale yellow lisianthus alongside robelini palm leaves.

For the golden hour the couple changed into clothes they didn’t mind messing up in the water, and the bride dazzled in a silver dress. Like a mermaid. The weather was temperamental, with moments of ‘tropical’ storms, but we were lucky these cleared quickly and were left with dramatic skies and even a touch of golden hour at the end!

The stationery was bold and colourful, taking inspiration from tropical flowers, palm leaves and coconuts. They mostly used colours from the colour scheme which included dark green, orange and pink. Alongside Bee Davies’ signature modern calligraphy with fun phrasing. RIX Weddings also shot an incredible film.

Goodness me, what a total treat!
