Amanda and Janis described their Taormina destination wedding to me as;
That was one of most beautiful days in our lives!
Isn’t that so lovely? And it’s clear to see why in these stunning images at the picturesque setting of Taormina, a coastal town in Sicily. They had a sweet first look, before walking down the aisle together where Amanda’s parents actually conducted the ceremony against the most spectacular views.
Then there were the gorgeous burgundy reds and pinks in the outfits (I love Amanda’s pink wedding dress and Janis’s burgundy jacket), the pretty blooms and the fairy lights that twinkled as the sun went down.
Saukans Photography, thanks so much for sharing with us these dreamy images of such a special destination wedding.

We were already planning the wedding when Janis proposed to me. We were having a talk in the forest when we asked me.

I wanted an October wedding in Europe and I wanted it to be warm. When I saw pictures of Taormina I just fell in love.

25K for all including flights and accommodation.

The ceremony spot was the one I saw on the internet. The moment I saw it I knew I have to get married right there.

Dark red and burgundy were my wedding colours. I had a white, shorter dress for the reception but the ceremony was the most special moment and it needed a princess dress. I matched Janis’s outfit to mine.

My parents have actually celebrated the ceremony and it was amazing. So intimate and touching. We only took the closest family and friends to Sicily but those who stayed at home could watch the live transmission which was great, especially for our grandmothers.

Gatis did our engagement shoot and we loved him so we asked him to come over.

I am a baker so I did not want a traditional cake. Instead, we went to the local pastry shop with our WP a few days before and we have composed our own wedding buffet which was then set up at the venue.
For flowers and decor, the theme was burgundy and gold with a fairytale feel. We used Oak leaves in the decor as my new surname is Oak in Latvian.
We have worked closely with our WP and she provided all smaller items such as candles, candle holders, vases., frames etc. We used a professional company to put up fairy lights over the dancefloor.

The ceremony! It was absolutely magical. It has been raining for the whole week we were there and on the day of the wedding I got up and I knew it will be perfect!

Focus on the moment, relax and enjoy every minute of it. It will be better than you expected and gone in a minute.

How romantic?!
Amanda and Janis, I can’t thank you enough for sharing your very special Taormina destination wedding with us.
