And so today i bring you the last of The Bride Diaries Photo shoot images… sob sob.
We had the main photoshoot images here, Adeline’s vintage look here, Kelly’s classic look here and now it’s lovely Laura’s turn.
Laura was our quirky and bohemian bride. With her first look more of an alternative style and her second look a little more boho. We really did have a dream team on this shoot! Thanks so much again to Anna Clarke Photography for her images 🙂 And look out for some behind the scenes action later, including an amazing film.
Here is what Laura had to say about the day;
“I hate having my photo taken and I’m pretty much guaranteed to hate 90% of all pictures of me, which is weird given that I keep volunteering to be on the wrong side of the camera!
It’s always interesting as a photographer to be in front of the camera and it doesn’t hurt to be reminded that it isn’t, initially, always a comfortable experience as you’re generally a bit nervous (I blame those hideous school portraits where you were plonked on a freezing cold bench and forced to grimace while your little sister bawled her eyes out).
Luckily as well as being amazingly talented, Anna and Simon were lovely and put us all at ease straight away.
We had a lot of fun, although I won’t lie it was freeeeeezing and there was a fair bit of teeth chattering going on in between shots!
And don’t get me started on the pigs….
So who knew that if you stand among a whole load of farmyard animals that a few of them might actually try to bite your toes?! I didn’t. I haven’t seen the super talented Simon’s video yet but I do hope he’s cut the scenes of me running around the pig pen shrieking….
Thanks so much to the lovely Lou and Alex for organising such a brilliant day and thanks to all of the other suppliers who were involved. And thanks to the pigs for the teeth marks in my yellow wellies. Bad pigs.”
For her first look Laura wore an the unusual yet beautiful Amber Headpiece by What Katy Did Next and the gorgeous White Duchess Halterneck Dress by Vivien of Holloway.
Laura had an unusual and striking hair style for the shoot created by Wonderful Wedding Hair. Here Sharon tells us how she created Laura’s do;
“I have met Laura a few times and worked with her on occasion and I am actually doing her hair for her wedding day.
For laura’s first look we wanted to use the Amber Headpiece by What Katy Did Next as it really seemed to fit in with the location. I precurled , added some backcombing for it to sit in front of and then arranged the rest of the hair around the headpiece , backcombing the curls to give it some texture. A quiff at the front completed the look.”
The fabulous Make Up by Katy beautified Laura on the day, here Katy tells us how she created Laura’s make up look;
“For Laura, I wanted to focus a bright splash of colour and decided on a subtle yet bright ombre lip. This meant I had to keep the rest of her make-up clean and subtle. So for her eyes, I stuck with very soft muted shades of grey to add a little definition and went to town with the lips. Using 2 different lip pencils I started with a dark pink, Laura Merciers Petunia all around the edge of the lips. Because this is so much the focus of the look, I really wanted a perfect lip so I then ran around the edge with a concealer pencil to ensure it was a really clean line. I then took a bright coral lip pencil, Mac in Synch and filled in the centre of the lip. The set the base for a 2 tone finish. I wanted to use a product with hugely strong pigment and the only option for me was OCC Lip Tar. I then layered on Memento mixed with Anime and using a tiny amount I carefully and sparingly layered this over the dark pink portion on the lip pencil. Then using a bright coral gloss, Pink Grapefruit by Laura Mercier I filled in the central portion of the lip.
A light flush of pink on the cheeks balanced it out without over powering.
This look is not for the bride who loves nudes and naturals but is great for those wanting to add a little flash of bright on the big day!”
For Laura’s second look she wore a stunning bespoke dress by Lottie Emile and a beautiful vintage headpiece by Flo and Percy.
Sharon from Wonderful Wedding Hair tells us how she created Laura’s second hair look;
“I replaced the bow with a vintage headpiece from Flo and Percy. I brushed out some of the backcombing and redefined the curls and the quiff to make it a bit more glam, whilst still keeping the height and unstructured look.”
