Afternoon lovelies, i have the perfect sweet afternoon treat for you today. I have the utter pleasure of getting to know the lovely Claire from la Dinette.
la Dinette create the most beautiful handmade natural Macarons and Cannelés de Bordeaux.
Claire was kind enough a couple of weeks ago to send me a sample of her gluten free Macarons, and they were incredible. So i cannot enthuse enough about Claire’s beautiful treats. They are soooo pretty and delicious, perfect for a wedding, party or a perfect pastel pick me up.
Claire is also offering WWW readers 10% off all orders made in April, simply use the code WWW10. Wow thank you so very much Claire…
I am Claire the founder of la Dinette, a London based bakery that specialises in Macarons and Cannelés de Bordeaux. I am French and moved to London in 2005 after studying Art Management in Paris. I first came to London to stay for a year or so to improve my English but I met my husband here and have never left!
Finding a job in my field was tough so I ended up working in the food industry which made me realise how much I loved food and that cooking could also be a way to be creative.
I love running my own business. I feel really lucky and privileged to be able to organise my life how I want it. I have a 10 month baby and working from home means that I can spend a lot of time with him which is amazing, but it also means that you have to be super organised and disciplined. What I really love about my job is the feedback I get from my customers, making people happy with sweet treats is pretty rewarding!
I quit my office job in 2010 and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu in London to take the patisserie course and then la Dinette was born. I used to sell mainly at farmers markets in London, selling British & French cakes & pastries. My best sellers were Macarons and Cannelés de Bordeaux and I received more and more requests to supply Macarons for weddings. I took a break after having my baby boy in May 2012 and relaunched la Dinette in March 2013 focusing on Macarons and Cannelés.
La Dinette is all about simple and yummy but yet sophisticated treats. All our products are made using natural and organic ingredients. For example we don’t use artificial food colouring to make our Macarons.
Both our Macarons and Cannelés de Bordeaux are perfect for wedding favours to surprise your guests with something a bit different. Also you can hire from us a tower to display Macarons which looks great on a dessert table.
To me less is more. Good quality ingredients are the key to delicious cakes. We use, just to name a few, organic free range eggs, organic almond powder and Valrhona chocolate.
Wedding favours prices start at £2.00 and Macarons and Cannelés at £0.80/unit for large orders.
Trust your gut feeling but try to meet your suppliers if you can. To me you are more likely to get a perfect service from someone you get along with (that’s at least the experience I got from organising my wedding).
You can get in touch with me by phone or email on 007756326730 or at Claire@ladinette.co.uk or follow la Dinette on Twitter at https://twitter.com/LaDinetteCoUk
Thanks so much Claire. Mmmmmm, i am still dreaming about those scrumptious treats. Pop over to la Dinette to buy yourselves a little treat or to make an order for your wedding with the 10% discount code WWW10 XOXO Lou
