Well well well, what do we have in store for you this fine Sunday? A beautiful and lush greenery filled set of images in the most picturesque of settings. Think sailcloth tent marquee filled to the brim with exquisitely styled decorations and fine paper goods. The bride wears an embellished romantic gown with her hair scooped up into a loose hair style. While the ribbon adorned bouquet has me swooning, I mean what’s not to love about the cascading foliage and blush dahlias?
Thanks so much to photographer Melissa Beattie for sharing these inspirational wedding ideas with us.
“Back at the end of last year myself and a small team of some of my favourite wedding suppliers got together to create the perfect outdoor wedding inspiration in beautiful Northumberland, where I live. We wanted to embrace the surroundings of our secluded location and make the most of Pitched Events’s gorgeous open sided sail cloth tent.
The idea was to create a beautiful and lush ‘Outdoors, In’ look and making the most of this years key Pantone colour, Greenery. This look was mainly achieved by the super talented green fingers of Alice from Forage & Blossom.”

‘The inspiration was to combine the rough, rugged and deep texture from the surrounding moorland with the sumptuous elegance of Shortflatt’s walled garden. The idea was to bring these two worlds together organically to create a feeling of wild romance, movement and “undone” beauty.
The colour palette emerged organically from the season. The last crop of the summer flowers were in their last flush and the early days of rich autumn texture were emerging. Deep tones came from dahlias like velvet, chocolate cosmos, cotinus, pheasant bush and berries. Swathes of movement came from entire vines of sweet peas, grasses, jasmine trails and nicoli eucaplytpus. Cafe au lait roses and heather were used for texture and to bridge the gap from the deep tones to the paler roses and Japanese anemones.’ – Alice, Forage & Blossom.

‘The Brinkburn team have worked with Melissa on several occasions in the past and have a real creative connection. Her style of photography captures every beautiful detail and this shoot was no different. Our stunning model, Alice looked divine in the gowns specially chosen for the venue. Perfectly matched with breath taking floral designs from Forage & Blossom, it really did bring all of the creative ideas to life’ – Jan, Brinkburn Northumberland.

‘As one of the newest suppliers to the North East’s wedding industry, it was an absolutely pleasure to rub shoulders with such an exciting and detail-focused bunch working on the Shortflatt Tower Photoshoot. The venue is absolutely stunning, but to add to this such natural creativity, the gardens became an extension of the space and infrastructure found under the Sailcloth tent.’ Robbie, Pitched Events.
