My name is Matteo and I am a documentary photographer, originally from Venice and based in Central London. I first developed my photographic vision through years of working as a qualified architect combined with studying fine art photography, under the teaching of internationally renowned photographers like Cristina García Rodero, Alberto García-Alix and Juergen Teller in Italy, Spain and the UK. Today I made my passion a career and I am founder and director of a London based photography studio. More than 15 years of experimentation have informed my current photographic techniques. Cutting edge equipment combined with a hybrid workflow enables us to deliver extremely high resolution digital images of uncompromising quality. My pictures are mostly characterised by the search for balance and symmetry: crispness, vividity and a perfect focus are my dogmas and the elements that can assure the longevity and timeliness of each image. Everyday life, people and buildings are my absolute passion and as such, also my most frequent commissions.
I tend to be very discreet and respectful of my couple’s space and privacy, I don’t want to change the course of the day or be disruptive with specific requests. Nevertheless, I will be ready to coordinate an entire crew of wedding guests to take a very loud and collaborative group picture. Promptness and flexibility are my keywords.
we always listen to couples whises. It is alway beneficial to know in advance if the couple has any special requirements. We work hard before, during and after the wedding day to deliver the best possible result for them to enjoy for the years to come.
Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, Mario Testino, and Annie Leibovitz are all highly influential figures in the world of photography, each leaving a significant impact on the field in their own unique ways that have had an influence on my path. Henri Cartier-Bresson's influence can be seen in the emphasis on capturing the decisive moment and the art of street photography. His precise timing and composition continue to inspire photographers seeking to tell compelling stories through candid and spontaneous moments. Robert Capa's work as a war photographer has had a profound influence on the genre of photojournalism. His courage, empathy, and ability to capture the human side of conflict elevated war photography to a new level, inspiring generations of photographers to document important social and political events. Mario Testino has made a significant impact on fashion photography, known for his glamorous and stylized images. His use of vibrant colors, dynamic compositions, and ability to capture the essence of fashion and celebrity culture has shaped contemporary fashion photography, setting trends and pushing creative boundaries. Annie Leibovitz, renowned for her iconic portraits, has had a tremendous influence on the realm of celebrity and editorial photography. Her distinctive style, characterized by bold poses, intimate connections with subjects, and imaginative set designs, has shaped the way we perceive and appreciate portraits of public figures. Together, these photographers have contributed to the evolution and diversification of photography as an art form. Their individual styles, techniques, and approaches have influenced countless photographers and continue to inspire new generations, leaving a lasting impact on the field of photography.
I can recall some very dear shots of party time, when all the tension of the day is gone and I can really focus on capturing the joy of people enjoying the celebrations. Weddings are significant milestones filled with love, emotions, and cherished moments. Being able to document those precious memories through photography allows couples and their loved ones to relive the joyous occasion for years to come. Photography has a way of preserving memories and allowing us to relive those happy times.
