Tell couples about your experience and approach
I am a documentary wedding photographer, however I will gladly cover "formal" portraits and also love including some classic and creative options for couples and the wider bridal party.
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
Following a mainly documentary style approach, I will allow the proceedings to unfold, however I will of course step up for certain part of the wedding (such as groom prep, bridal prep, post-ceremony "formals", plus any creative portraits we agree to do).
Described by clients as approachable, friendly and likeable.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
Hair and makeup for the bridal party normally overruns which means bridal prep photos can get squeezed to a very small time slot. Ideally, start your stylists as early as possible to avoid overruns.
Ideally, nominate one or two reliable people who know all the VIPs, so that when certain photos are called for, they can coral as required!
Finally, take your time during ceremony entrance and exit. The atmosphere is amazing, so soak it up and capture everything I can!
What are your artistic influences?
Fellow wedding and portrait photographers that inspire me include Roberto Valenzuela, Jason Vinson, Esteban Gil and Marlies Hartmann.
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
A wedding is a hugely emotional event. With so much love and effort that goes into it planning, I strive to capture the full range of emotion during the day. That way helping to tell the story of this unique day, for the couple, their family, friends and future generations to cherish.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
If couples would like their day captured in a loving, tender, fun and - in some instances - unique way, by a friendly, approachable yet professional guy, then they should at the very least reach out for an initial chat!
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
Understanding the couple so that I know their values and what they want out of the day (from a photography perspective).
Which venues have you shot at?
The Wroxeter Hotel; Hadley Park House; a number of private venues.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
With all my packages, I insist we have an initial zoom or face-to-face meeting to get to know each other; and for me to get very clear on your values and vision for your wedding photography.
Ideally we will also meet for your engagement / pre-wedding portrait session, which gives you the chance to - at the very least - get comfortable in front of the camera! (And hopefully get a few nice photos as well.)
What is your bucket list for amazing venues you’d love to shoot at?
Iscoyd Park; Colshaw Hall, Grange Barn; Malt House Barn
