Tell couples about your experience and approach
With a background in fine art, I have been shooting parties, events and weddings for over 30 years. I was the in-house photographer for 10 years for Opera Holland Park and for Fashion Fringe. I specialise in non-invasive, reportage, vibrant photography and have photographed in most of the top venues including The Dorchester, V&A, Annabel's, Chewton Glen, The Natural History Museum amongst many) I have seen weddings become less formal but in keeping with traditional elements. The details and themes unique to the wedding and the couple are joy!

It is my absolute pleasure to be a part of your celebration and I feel very privileged to be in a position to photograph such a wonderful occasion. I love every minute of my job, and produce a definitive unique and memorable story in pictures of the great day.

My best wishes,
Nilu
Are you super chatty or will be you be a fly on the wall?
I am a mixure of rushing across the room to snap that fleeting moment and at the same time, I have quick chats. I am always looking for the laugh, twinkle, the perfect light, looking through my viewfinder framing a guest, for the right moment to click my shutter.
What can couples do to get the most out of their wedding photography on the day?
To try and relax and not be nervous.
What are your artistic influences?
Iconic photographers' such as Richard Avedon, Daffyd Jones, Mary Ellen Mark, Greg Williams, Mario Testino and Weegee.
What was your favourite wedding shoot, and why?
Linda and Steve's wedding from 2000, the bride wore orange taffetta, and set against the backdrop of a crumbling stately home, with so many children and adults dressed in an array of styles, it was magical. The occasion was low key in this beautiful home but colourful and vibrant! It was a remarkable occasion for creativity, spontaneity and joy!
What kinds of moments are you looking to capture?
Emotional moments, laughter, expressive conversations, glamourous clothes and their details, the atmosphere of the wedding, fleeting kisses and hugs, groups in conversations, table talk, the delicious food and the decorations. Colourful and sharp cool elements of the day.
Why should couples choose you as a photographer?
I get involved with the day and photograph it with flair and style. I gravitate towards people having a good time and respond to the emotion of the day. If you want an artistic eye recording your wedding, my style will suit you.
What is the most important thing to you when you photograph weddings?
I want to know the wedding timeline so I can be in the right place at the right time for the important elements of the day. I am keen to know who the family members and the close friends are and I make sure my back up cameras are ready in case of any problems. I ensure sure the group photographs whether they be a full set of family groups and the portraits of the couple are taken with minimum fuss and swiftly so there isn't any waiting around.
Which venues have you shot at?
Annabels, Blake's Hotel, Blenheim Palace, Chewton Glen, Cheyne Arms, Claridge's, Daphne's, The Balllroom at the Dorchester, The Oliver Messel Suite at the Dorchester, Eltham Palace, Glyndebourne, Guards' Chapel, Gunnersbury Park, 5 Hertford, Home House, Hurlingham Club, In & Out (Naval and Military Club), Inner Temple, The Lanesborough, London Hilton on Park Lane, Mossiman's, The Natural History Museum, The Orangerie in Holland Park, Thomas Cubitt, Westminster Synagogue, Wilton’s.
What's the most important thing couples should know about you before they book?
I am helpful and reliable and can be called on absolutely anything they need.
