Maria and Chris’ 16 Tulum wedding was oh-so-chic. Their day was intimate and micro in size, but vast in beauty and love. Yes, that’s right, we are in beautiful Mexico at the architecturally striking venue, 16 Tulum which is nestled in the jungle.
There is a lot to love about their day. First up the styling is immense, the clean lines of the venue were accentuated by the colour pop red, orange and pink flowers. Then there were black accents in the tableware and candles which looks sublime.
Let’s not forget just how stylish Maria and Chris looked too in their attire, they had two very meaningful wedding ceremonies and there is a wedding flower arch of dreams!
Romad Photography, thank you so much for sharing these stupendous images with us.

Chris knows how important my family is to me. During a family trip to Guadalajara where my family is from, he surprised me with mariachi and in front of my parents, siblings, nieces and grandfather. He got on one knee and proposed.
We envisioned a wedding surrounded by our loved ones in a beautiful venue.

I found my dress at Love & Lace Boutique in Irvine California. My wedding gown is an Alyssa Kristin maven design. I wanted a simple, classy look but affordable.
My husband wore a Ted Baker tuxedo. He was going for a classic look.
We wanted a spiritual and meaningful ceremony. When we found Spirituality Rivera Maya we couldn’t think of a better ceremony for us.
The ancient Mayan tradition is full of mysticism and deep spiritual meaning. This experience in which we celebrated the union of our souls forever will be with us forever.
Music: We hired mariachi tulum to play during our cocktail hour and reception.
We also hired a wonderful violinist Antonella Vera (scenic music shows). She played during our 2nd portion of the ceremony where we did our vows exchange.

Our venue was so gorgeous that we didn’t require too much decor. But Archive Rentals assisted with wedding decor. All the furniture needed for the wedding was provided by them.
Our wedding bar was so chic, the wood with black and pink furniture was perfection. The seating for the ceremony and dining furniture was beautiful.
Canteiro Weddings: They help bring to life all the wedding flower arrangements. My wedding bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, husbands boutonniere. They were also in charge of the outdoor lighting and candle lights that set a romantic mood for our reception.
Icaiza Catering: They handled our delicious dinner and open bar/cocktails.
We did not want a traditional wedding cake, so they helped us design the best wedding dessert; a churro vanilla ice cream sandwich drizzled with caramel.
The wedding theme was chic, simple with a splash of color. We wanted colors that would pop, 16 Tulum has minimalist, chic vibes.
The architecture of the house is very beautiful and simple filled with lots and lots of green plants. The deep red, pinks, orange color pallets were perfect for the white and black backdrop of the venue.

Our honeymoon is on hold for now. Because of COVID-19 we are not allowed to travel to Japan. We pray that in 2021 we finally are able to take our first trip as the new Mr & Mrs Lee.
I would have to say the Mayan ceremony from beginning to end. The message from our shaman was so inspirational and meaningful to both of us.
My mom giving us her blessing.
Hire a wedding planner, it makes the planning less stressful.
Don’t feel obligated to invite everyone you know.
Look into a micro wedding, smaller is sometimes better.
