It’s a breath of fresh air to showcase these glam and gorgeous 1920s wedding ideas with you. Brought to us by Foxglove & Black and captured so beautifully by Gina Fernandes Photography, this meets modern vibes inspiration with art deco influence is sure to bring you a slice of wedding heaven.
There were sequins galore, thanks to the sparkly emerald green gown, gold sequin fabrics and metallic cakes. Then there were the gorgeous shoes and clutch bag by WWW fave Rainbow Club which I was thrilled to spot here.
Look out for sophisticated stationery, a showstopping table and of course, oodles of shimmer and shine. Wow.

The initial concept for the shoot, was to be a modern 2020s twist on the ever-popular 1920’s era. Marking its 100-year anniversary, it was inspired by the gorgeous ‘Lunatic’ dress by ‘Lucy Can’t Dance’. The detailing with the multicoloured sequins was amazing and in person it was even more beautiful, looking different colours in different lights! It also fitted perfectly with the theme embracing the 1920s style, but at the same time looking modern.

Picking out key design elements of the 20’s, I wanted to celebrate the style of the Art Deco period, but giving it a modern twist of today, by combining it with a neon sign, sequin wall and modern table styling. The geometric shapes were reflected with detailed chairs which also added a touch of glamour and also in the stationery, cake pattern and an Art Deco inspired cake backdrop.
I wanted this area to make a statement, so I loved the idea of layering up the backdrops with the black geometric stand and the gold sequin wall. A gold plinth was used for the cake stand and also as table centrepieces, to again stand out and work in line with the geometric theme.

Carrying through the prominent use of gold I added cut glassware with gold detailing and gold geometric table cutlery. White marble was also a key element to add to the shoots luxurious feel, with marbled dinner plates and stationery.
For the flowers I wanted the look to be bold and contemporary, so I chose large foliage to add drama and then mixed with pops of pink roses and orchids. Two different designs were created for the bridal crowns – one more traditional of the 20’s with beading and worn low on the forehead and the other large and geometric. Both suited the look and feel of the shoot and showed how different styles can be used together to create an eclectic feel.

I carried through the use of sequins with the table linen and ceremony frame draping and used the classic beaded necklace popular in the 20’s, as a decorative element. These were hung from the table centrepieces, ceremony frame and also in the bouquet. Gin was considered the ‘drink of the 20’s’, so gin bottles were used as vases.

Even though the styling was modern, I wanted a period venue to create a contrast and to suit both the 1920’s and today. The beautiful Moxhull Hall fitted the bill perfectly, with its unique period features and gorgeous gardens, it was also a luxurious venue for today’s brides. The shoot was captured beautifully by Gina Fernandes Photography, who captured the elegance of the 1920’s, but also showcased an element of fun.
