Rustic Floral Peach Wedding http://www.folegaphotography.co.uk/

Pretty as a peach today with WWW readers Rachael and Dan’s super lovely nuptials.

5th September 2015 was the date they chose for their rustic floral extravaganza, which was held at Fishlake Mill in Yorkshire. Being parents to three children it was important to them that their day was child friendly and fun. Games were laid on for guests alongside live music and delicious cuisine.

The peachy colours were just gorgeous and the blooms a delight. The ‘Man Cave’ was a brilliant idea, as was the personal details and décor.

Rachael chose a lace fishtail dress for the day and a tea length number for the dancing. Didn’t she look stunning? The gents were suited and booted in navy suits while the maids wore vintage style Lindy Bop frocks. I love it all.

Thanks so much to Folega Photography for sharing these wonderful shots with us.

THE PROPOSAL | Dan proposed at midnight on New Year’s Eve 2013, it was a huge surprise but an amazing one!

We had just had our youngest little boy in the November so we planned a quiet night in, just before midnight dan shouted me outside, he had set up some fire works and a camp fire with marshmallows on sticks! after the last firework dan just got down on one knee and proposed, definitely the best way to start a new year!

THE VISION | We had a vision from the start that we wanted a relaxed child friendly fun wedding, we have three children of our own and also a lot of our friends and family have children so it was as important to us that they enjoyed the day as much as we did, to us children help make a wedding, which they defiantly did for us!

For the venue itself we decided on a vintage rustic woodland kind of theme which we though worked well and went together nicely

Also we knew from the start that there was going to be a lot of flowers (I LOVE flowers) you can never have enough flowers at a wedding!

THE PLANNING PROCESS | Our wedding took 21 months from picking our venue to the big day itself.

THE VENUE | Fishlake Mill, Doncaster, we knew from the start we wanted an out door wedding, as soon as we saw the mill we knew it was the right place for us it is a truly beautiful setting which has a lot of beautiful small details but still being a blank canvas for us to make our day personal to us.

THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | For the day I wore a Faragé fishtail lace dress which was beautiful I knew as soon as I tried the dress on that it was the one I wanted to get married in, for the night reception I chose a tea length Phoenix dress that had more a vintage look. I matched both dresses up with a stunning pair Rachel Simpson wedding shoes in duck egg blue.

FINDING THE DRESS | I found my second dress and our girls bridesmaids dresses at Perfect Day Promotions which had a lovely seamstress who did a lot of work for us including our bespoke ties .

GROOM’S ATTIRE | Dan and his two best men wore navy suits from Ted Baker matched with brown shoes and belts, the two best men wore matching navy waist coats whilst Dan decided on a tweed waist coat which worked really well. Our two younger boys wore matching suits from Monsoon, the whole grooms party including the two younger boys all wore matching peach ties that we had made in our colour scheme.

THE READINGS & MUSIC | We first heard James Sunderland at the I do wedding show in Doncaster, he has an amazing voice and we booked him straight away to play for the whole day and night for our wedding! He sang our favourite song, Turning Page – Sleeping At Last as I walked down the aisle. For the reception he was joined by his band which all the guests loved as they were all up dancing, the band played for our first dance which we had, All For Love by Bryan Adams, Sting and Rod Stewart.

BEAUTIFUL BRIDESMAIDS | I had my sister and my three best friends as well as our daughter and her best friend as bridesmaids, the older girls wore a vintage style navy dress from Lindy Bop with teal netted under skirts with navy shoes. The two younger bridesmaids wore more traditional style dresses but matched with a navy band and very cute navy bow on the back of their dresses. Instead of flowers for them to hold Lauretta made them a flower head band which had a lace bow at the back which went well with their lace converse shoes!

THE FLOWERS | The flowers were definitely a big factor in our wedding day, from our first meeting with Lauretta I knew she understood what we was wanting and came up with some amazing ideas. The mill has a pergola which we got married in so Lauretta designed and decorated a stunning flower arch around the entrance, it truly did look fantastic. In the marquee we had a sweetheart table which Lauretta did a beautiful flower display for as well as the guest tables that had tall vases with beautiful flowers in our colour scheme.

THE CAKE | Our cake was made by one of our good friends, we had a four tier cake, every tier was different we even had a rainbow tier which looked fab! We decided on a plain white cake covered in wedding frosting then Lauretta decorated the cake with more flowers, we used a crate for the stand which brought in the rustic theme well.

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | We was lucky enough to win our photography with Sarah on a Facebook competition, we had seen Sarah’s work before and she is a very talented photographer so we was over the moon when she contacted us to tell us we had won! We could not of asked for more with our photos of the day as she captured the day perfectly.

THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | We hired the most amazing wedding planner to help with all the planning of the day, nothing was too much for her, she was with us from start to finish and came up with some amazing ideas for our big day.

One of our favourite parts of the decorations has to be the man cave, we hired out a variety of vintage furniture including two chesterfields a trunk and even a drinks globe, the men looked very much the part enjoying the area!

We had a lovely lady that designed our wedding invitations and even came up with our own wedding logo which we loved, so decided to carry it on through the whole day on various things including personalised wafers from the vintage ice cream van!

For the day itself we had vintage games of giant jenga, boules and quoits, a vintage ice cream van, bouncy castle and even a game of adult sumo! Which the guests loved! Then for the evening we had a VW camper photo van and of course the amazing band.

THE HONEYMOON | We enjoyed a week in a log cabin! Was definitely nice to wind down after the big day and enjoy the start of our married life together.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS | One of my memorable moments has to be when I was getting ready in the mill and I could hear the three Aston Martins pulling in to the venue. Then seeing Dan and his two best men getting out the cars all wearing sunglasses (has to be done!) very James Bond!

Also when I was getting dressed a wasp flew under my dress! Being told by the wonderful ladies from the dress shop that came to dress us, not to panic didn’t really help but they did manage to find it and get it out in time!

It was also a very proud moment watching our children walk down the aisle, we had the two small boys walk down together first the then two small girls they did amazing.

Our biggest memorable moment has to be seeing each other for the first time, it really is the best feeling and of course when you are pronounced as man and wife!

ADVICE FOR OTHER COUPLES | Enjoy the day! It really does go as fast as people say!
