Good morning, lovely readers. Get ready…your jaws are just about to drop. The wedding of WWW readers Marta and Carlos in Madrid nearly had me speechless and that says a lot!
There are plenty of super cool components to this day, including breathtaking city views, a cigar bar and helium balloons with polaroid photos of every guest with the lovely couple. The bride and groom brought their A-game in the outfit department and they both looked effortlessly stylish and modern at the same time. Marta’s makeup artist flew in especially from France (got to love having talented friends!) and her hairstylist has been with her since she was 11, so needless to say, they did a great job enhancing her natural beauty. I think it is so important to still look and feel like YOU on your big day.
I love the more serious and romantic photos of this pair (and I think they should probably prepare to be recruited by high fashion magazines) but my favourite captures are the fun, ecstatic and joyful moments. Ah, those smiles!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Lorena San José Photography, for these images.

THE PROPOSAL | It was on 1-8-2014 and Carlos was very nervous when he asked me to marry him. Later he told me that those moments of excitement were the best of his life with me.
THE VISION | We met in Madrid in 2005 when we were in the same class. We decided our wedding has to be there because we are in love with the neighbourhoods, the light, the autumn. We wanted to marry at dusk and with great views of the city. That’s why we chose the terrace roof of Hotel Emperador.
THE PLANNING PROCESS | We had the great help of wedding planners Mangata Eventos. They really helped in the month before the wedding day. We were very happy with them, because it was love at first sight. They immediately understood what we wanted. They are very professional and had everything under control. We just enjoyed the happiest day of our lives.
CEREMONY | We married at Palacio de Castilfalé (Burgos). An aunt of mine is an officiant and we wanted her to marry us. It was very moving, with our closest relatives.
THE VENUE | Hotel Emperador (Madrid)
THE DRESS & ACCESSORIES | Dress: Raquel Ferreiro
Shoes: Jimmy Choo
Bouquet: John Nuñez (La Real).
Makeup: Belu (Belén Malter Terrada). She is Argentinian and one of my best friends. She works for MAC France. And took a plane to be my makeup artist.
Hair: Jorge (Por los pelos). He has been my hairdresser since I was 11.
Nails (manicure & pedicure): Jennifer Fernández.
Jewellery: Diamond earrings (my sister’s gift). Engagement ring. An Aristocrazy bracelet (Carlos’s gift). Vintage ring (from my grandmother. She purchased it during a trip to Paris with my grandfather).
FINDING THE DRESS | Well, I wanted a unique bride gown, because it had to show my personality. I spent many, many hours searching on blogs, magazines, Pinterest… At last, I found a bride with a wonderful dress. It happened that the bride was the designer Raquel Ferreiro. Raquel is my sister’s name and Ferreiro is Iván Ferreiro’s surname (an indie singer that Carlos and I adore), so I knew she had to be the designer of my wedding dress.
Raquel is amazing. My gown was a three-piece dress, with personal details like the open back, the pockets… In short, it was me!
GROOM’S ATTIRE | Tuxedo and shirt with black buttons from Tom Black.
THE READINGS & MUSIC | Concert by Morrigans including the song ‘Incomprendidos’ (Misunderstoods), that we made the anthem of our wedding.
My entry was to the song ‘Fix You’ by Coldplay.
The dance started with ‘Turnedo’ by Iván Ferreiro.
THE FLOWERS | All the decor by Mangata Eventos.
YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER | Lorena San José
THE DETAILS & DÉCOR | Mangata Eventos (they were also the wedding planners). They made amazing décor. If there is a theme for our wedding, it was ‘millennial’. Their job was fabulous. At the start of the free drinks, we went to the first-floor room where helium balloons had a photo of every guest with us. Later, we went to the Teatro Barceló to continue the party with their special El cielo de Pachá. About the details for the guests, the money for the men was given to NGO UNICEF and the women received an OPI nail varnish and an ICON hair oil. They loved it!
VIDEO | Juanmi Díaz (friend of ours) edited the video that all our friends prepared.
THE HONEYMOON | We went to Singapore and Thailand. The cities and the islands were amazing, we discovered another cultures. Really unforgettable!!
MEMORABLE MOMENTS | My sister was to make the speech. Instead, she surprised us with the song ‘Turnedo’ by Iván Ferreiro, that means so much for Carlos and me. So the three of us danced to make that moment last forever.
