If you are looking for some extra special and unique ideas, lovely readers, today’s shoot from Cedar Pond Farms in New Market, Tennessee will be sure to boost your creativity. The clever collaborators for this whimsical event incorporated some unusual features like a birchwood teepee covered in multicoloured flowers, dreamcatchers hanging from tall trees and vintage china to bring their vision to life and I think you’ll agree it’s splendid.
My favourite aspect of the day was the fact that the models, Michael and Julia, are actually a real life couple and were so inspired after playing the part of bride and groom that they got engaged very shortly afterwards. Awww isn’t that romantic?! The second stars of this show were the vibrant, brightly coloured florals that were used to accentuate the beautiful décor, the cake and the outdoor setting. Just gorgeous.
Thank you so much to the team and to Perfect Capture Photography for sharing these amazing images with us. Keep reading for some more insight from behind the scenes.
“Channelling all things bohemian, whimsical, and ethereal, our styled shoot sought to infuse a little magic and a lot of love into the late-summer beauty of Cedar Pond Farms in New Market, Tennessee. For this shoot, we were insistent upon striking details, breathtakingly unique décor, and, above all, an air of authenticity which would not only allow Perfect Capture Photography to create stunning images, but also to craft an irresistible scene of romance unlike anything else we had ever experienced. Even our models, Michael and Julia, were carefully chosen; a real-life couple, they became engaged only days after receiving the photos from their would-be wedding, driven by the narrative of what could lie ahead.
To enhance the scene, Melissa Timm Designs composed organic, yet ornate, arrangements of wildflowers bursting with a variety of colours and forms, the effect of which perfectly complemented an array of vintage china and tableware artfully curated and placed by Unique Settings. Once an elegant two-tiered cake from Rosa’s Catering and our custom favours and invitations were added to the equation, each of us stood in awe of this tangible vignette desperate, if not destined, to be replicated and extended into a real wedding someday, somehow. When Julia, with flawless hair and make up by Southern Sirens and an elaborate lace wedding dress from The Gilded Gown, stood before Michael in his stripped-down variation on men’s formalwear from Regal Tuxedo, the emotional honesty of the moment was as intense as it was palpable—each did their best to disguise the involuntary tears that welled in their eyes. Whether playfully jousting with glitter-encrusted Cupid’s arrows or lying in each other’s arms beneath a deliciously eccentric birchwood teepee and dreamcatchers, the romance of the scene was undeniable, indeed irresistible in its seemingly omniscient promise of what was to come.”
